Thread: Group Defenses working?

I'm sure this has been debated to death, but the modifier should basically add the equivelant of 1 armor rating level to the group members. now when i'm in a group it seems like i do indeed take less damage. both in pvp and against creatures and such. has anyone done found out for sure if it works or not? the way to tell would be compare the number that floats above your head with the number that shows up on the combat tab.

well?

No, "toughness" influences damage reduction (i.e. One-Handed Toughness).

Defenses (Ranged Defense, Melee Defense) influence how difficult of a target you are to hit.

A lower number over your head could imply higher armor rating as well, but yes, melee and ranged defense is either a hit or miss thing (more you have, less you get hit essentially).

Hi

Similar question here, were there ANY changes regarding SL abilities in the last 'big' patch?

From the patch notes:

Fixed issues with state defense modifiers. They didn't work, now they do.

It only mentions state defense modifiers, but maybe general combat modifers too? I have the feeling that I dodged/was missedmore attacks yesterday night, so I thought my modifers form the combat professions (Pistoleer here) work now? (First combat night for days, so I don't know for sure).

Reason for the question should I still climb the Mobility tree first or are there now other working/usefull skills? (Usually have a lot of people without any scout-skills in my groups.)

To be honest, I haven't been able to lead a real squad since before that patch, so I don't know if they're working or not. As far as I know, they're still off.

I personally don't think they work for any proffesion, self mod or group SL mod. Or they aren't noticable. I've always heard they are your to-hit modifier against others on you. (more defense, harder you are to hit)

But I've never noticed myself being missed more than any other proffesion (I'm a TKA, highest natural defense against ranged/melee)

I've never noticed a difference in my groups between when I'm letting my novice SL friend have leader, or myself a master SL.
