"How typical!"

The just HAD to go and put the SL changes for pub 24 back on TC AFTER I respec to finish the village!

I tried SO hard to wait for the changes to SL. I really wanted to try them with my live toon, but the waiting got to me. Now I pay the price for my lack of vision. lol

Oh well, it should be fun rediscovering the profession when I start grinding it with my alt.

(I just knew this would happen though) LOL

I simply refuse to do Jedi with my main. Though I have half-considered doing enough to get the alt, and no more. That would just eat a ton of skill points though. :-(

Don't...do it...

I refused to do the hologrind when that came out, it was ruining the game. Then I started doing the village to get some extra defense pre-cu. Next of course I said "well, maybe I'll just finish it off so I can have my second character". Then when I actually equiped my lightsaber, with full stormtrooper armor on (great screenshot btw), I had to pick up a couple boxes of jedi, and drop SL to do it.

Now, the only non-jedi I have left is Master Carbineer . I've been the same temp for awhile now, I just can't give up my gun. Hokey religions and ancient weapons are just no match...

The alt is nice, at least I have SL back. But Ambasder just isn't what he used to be. It's gonna suck when they push that hybrid temp nerf through and I'm stuck with a glowstick.

I have a lot of respect for anyone that resists becoming a jedi, it's hard to do.

What blows is PvP nights like last night. 8 of us vs 6 Rebels. We were mixed, had 2 or 3 Jedi in there (I can only remember 2). 6 Rebels? All Jedi. Every one of them.

Then a Rebel squad leader, covert, comes up and laughs at my corpse like he had something to do with it.

I refused to do hologrind too, partially because I thought it was really lame and partially because I couldn't bring myself to rap3 my character. When the Jedi revamp and the Village came, and it was now possible to keep your character as is to grind and to mix Jedi with other profs, that I liked. All I've got left is a nice chunk of medic and my MSL, the medic will go sooner or later, the MSL will stay because that is the character. I've got a similar screenshot, stormtrooper assault armor and alit up saber (curtesy of volley fire igniting sabers).

I find the rumoredhybrid nerf hard to believe, but if it does go through I think I'll be fine. I'm building my temp to be be viable without force in order to not get vis in PvP. The SL revamp is going to help with the extra accuraccy mods, lol

I've considered making my alt an SL too, but decided against it.

I just can't bring myself to do it. I think if you could unlock the Jedi account and make a new character, I'd probably do it. But I have some RP attached to Heinz as well, and he's not the Jedi-type.

For what it's worth, it wasn't an easy decision to make. Been playing since late June '04, so I came in just before the Village was introduced in game and never had the time to even attempt the hologrind. When the village did start up, and I used the /check command out of curiousity, it turned out that I was further along towards glowing than a guildmate who was out for Jedi as their ultimate goal! lol I could have done this a while ago, following any of the FOTM/FTW professions pre and post-CU to get it done, but I enjoyed setting my own pace. Jedi was always something to set aside for when I felt I was ready.

Also, I have adjusted my character bio as I've made the different profession choices in game. It's almost become it's own evolution and I'm kind of curious to see which direction I take it now that I've started this. I'll probably be doing the same with my alt, too. It's not a HUGE creative process, but it keeps my mind working in different ways and I like that.

Finally, I can honestly say this wasn't a choice for being uber in game. lol My templates, both pre and post-CU have NEVER been uber/take on the world solo choices. I always love the pistols use, and it seemed to fit in well in my mind when I was a bio-engineer (even if it wasn't the best choice when facing an angry rancor when I jabbed him one too many times lol). But they've also been support professions for others I play with. I used to regularly supply nice little BE'd critters to the creature handlers in my guild. When that fell through with bad samples that resulted in critters NO ONE could use, I switched to SL to offer the help to grinding groups for the guild. Adding in CM skills to my template turned me into a big support member of my guild. Heck, with only 2xxx CM I was told by a Jedi guildmate that I was a better healer/support player than full-templated CM players they had played with, so I'll always be proud of that.

I'll still be hanging around though, if that's all right. I WILL be taking my alt back up SL, no doubts about it (found myself missing SL moves during my exit quest already lol). I know it won't be the same as with my current toon, but that's ok. I look at it as rediscovering the profession, especially with the changes. And by doing it this way maybe I'll be able to provide some better insights into the profession. This is easily one of the best informed and respectful forums anyone could ask for and I just hope to add some decent contributions of my own someday.

Nah, I'm rather hopeful and optimistic about the changes. Otherwise I wouldn't even be considering taking my alt back into that profession.
