Thread: Controlling allied factional NPCs from the GCW forum

it doesnt spawn troops it makes troops in a radius come to you to attack your protagonist. im sure rebs can do it also and its a very valid way of controling the defence of a base
if spammed too much they run around like idiots so it needs to be controlled.

so what happens when a spy runs in and drags them all off to the side on a wild goose chase and allows the small group of rebels to watlz in and drop the base with minimal combat?
Hmm, i saw a variant of that happening often enough. A jedi comes in, takes all the agro and does some marathon running with the NPCs around the base.
This one mostly looks like a massive advantage for defenders, if it works... possibly accumulating the guards of more than one base in the area can bring a very strong crowd of base defenders.
I was wondering why the rebels kept yelling that this weekend... and here I thought they were just being annoying...
/setcalledshot I'm an Imperial under attack! ![]()

lol, you never read the forums about both sides complaining about this?

Hey! At least they only think you are using this stuff and don't realize you are an SL...

[Is it really so much of an issue somewhere? I never noticed it being used yet. Though, spatial is the one thing i don't pay too much attention to in PvP.]
I never read the GCW forums, I skip alot of the GCW-drama threads in Kettemoor. Idon't think it would be posted in Pilot, SW, or JtLforums, and this is the first time I've seen it in the SL forum so nope, never seen it before

When you see one or two people shouting it so much that you can't see who is standing behind them, it gets easy to notice even if you ignore spatial unless you have text boxes off.

Well people call it a cowardly tactic by having the opposing faction chase you back to your base so the turrets and NPCs can help you.
I have never heard so much complaining, the complaining has kept me from the GCW for a long time.

Yay! You got me, i even didn't think about those ugly things any more...

Hmm... a valid tactic from a roleplaying point of view. Perhapsrather cheap from a balance point of view. It forces the attackers to come in superior numbers and organisationand while it is traditional that defenders of fortifications have some advantage, this at first sounds too powerful to me. Anyways, as i can't rememer it ever being used against me, i also can't give a final statement on how bad it is.

I just don't read those forums too much. Sometimes i take a peek there, sometimes people even have something sensible to say, quite often it's a lot of unnecessary complaining in my eyes. The only thing which stopped me from going to battle is the recent lack of enemies.

- So many ppl come in here and want the SL to control factional NPCs. Well now they can, even without taking up the SL profession.
- If both sides know this is in the game, and that this is a "legit" thing, as it looks now, there is no reason for both sides to call the other sides exploiters.
- As for attacking or defending reasons, some ppl "lure" all NPCs out of the base leaving the base vulnerable. With this the defenders could at least try to bring back some NPCs to the base. As it needs to be partially coordinate, well if a leet dude just spams it, it will not realy help him, if a SL coordinates it, well the other side better be ready.
That lvl 90+ NPCs in side bases utterly stupid is, well that's an other issue that needs to be adressed.
