Squad Leader Archive
Thread: Going to pick up SL, need some advice.
A SL IMO needs to keep a clear view of what's going on on the battlefieldat all times.
Of course, this depends mostly on your managing style. For instance, I personallyfocus on tactics and communication *before* my actual combat involvement or anything else.
As a result, I would say thatany support professionworks here(e.g. doc, ranger).
Now combat-wise, I would say everything that does notpush you into close-range combat workslike carbiner or rifleman which allows you to maintainthe distancerequired to evaluate the global situation of your team. So I wouldn't recommend melee professions for instance.
Commando isn't a bad match either, you get a nice close support capability that allows you to stand off from the fight and take on anything that happens to get too close. Just stick with Flamethrower and Field Tactics for the best mix of firepower and defenses for Commando and you get a nice balance with the Squad Leader passive defense abilities when grouped. With the flamethrower, you can stand off from the fight and just let your default attack fire and still keep your hand in the game withOverchargeShot2 when you really need to reach out and touch someone.
Rifleman/Squad Leaders are pretty devastating that I have seen, though they are all pretty hard core Muon users.

go to Fort Tusken to master SL i heard people mastering it in 2 hours.. thats if theres alot of people in your group... and Why SL it sucks to me.. well i like solo'ing better than grouping too many Ninja Looters
I think you posted in the wrong thread... and this game isnt really about loot, not yet at least.
This profession is hard to do that with... since it has no real "best branch".
Master it, find out what skills you use and don't use and then drop those that don't fit with your play style. This is the second fastest profession to master so don't worry about getting there. Just play with your skills and see what your gonna use.
If you don't Master it, its situational. Each group led by an SL has different requirements.
In my case, I am leading a group that often has specialized characters that have no Scout skills (CM/Doctors, Jedi, etc.) So the Mobility line is a must have.
I help coordinate defenses during PvP raids so Leadership III and Morale IV are skills it would behoove me to have in order to offer the best possible benefits to my group for melee and ranged defense.
Volley Fire is currently broken, so Tactics beyond level II is rather optional at this point.
