He hangs around, benefits the group by not dieing, and spams the System Message command. So I suppose that we don't need tips

I guess we should tip the TKA's for tanking and the commandos for the DOTs and the medics the heal while fighting and scouts for making camps to pull out pets and vehicles. Actually the SL is the only one that does not deserve tips because 1) nothing in his skill tree works and 2) he does nothing and makes a rediculous amount of exp. I can say this because i mastered SL in 3 days at fort tusken. This class is by far the worst out of all of em, except maybe carbineer....but not far off.

well, you definately sound like sum1 who mastered the profession in 3 days then droppe dit on your holo grinding path. I imagine youve been playing for about a week.

SL's can make camps liek a scout can. SL's can put terrain negotiation bonuses on people. We can enhance defense mods slightly (which will have mor eimpact once they hardcap defense MODs next publish because we'll be able to enhance the hardcap). As a melee class in addition to SL i can tank MOBs for my group just fine, and before bleeds got nerfed i could DoT with my hammer as good as any Fire DoT from a commando. When im fighting nightsisters on Dathomir that constantly dizzy and stun my members, i spam Formup which cures the dizzy states, allowin gmy men to get there butts off the ground if theyve been knocked down.

We arent nearly as useful as we shoul dbe......not by a long shot. We dont deserve tips, id be insulted if i got tipped in fact. But im tired of morons who have gotten SL by the quick easy road it is now (not all of us did, you know...some of us have been master SL for months, before the XP got screwed up)...and then blabbering away on these forums.

Interesting you must not have learned anything from leading those groups. The specials aren't powerful, the class doesnt have anything for power grinders other than an easy profession to grind. It is a support profession that relies heavily upon the natural leadership abilities and intelligence of the squad leader. It is versitile in use, can be used to help train new players, used to raid walled cities, or wipe out hundreds of mobs. melee defenses and ranged defenses work, there is a noticable difference in the number of hits i recieve from creatures when i am grouped versus ungrouped.

I regret you had a unpleasureable experience as sql. But after all it isnt made for everyone in mind. Good luck grinding other things. I will be keeping this and leading hundreds of missions throughout my galaxy training my men into an organized fighting force, making them elite killers. To the point where i will no longer even need to issue orders for them to know what i want them to do.

So how many of you squad leaders are recieving tells every night to organize a hunting party for someone? I get at least 3 the first five minutes i go online. And request to join every 30 min after.

To clarify I stuck with it for a month, I still did not find anything to useful.i agree that most groups need an effective leader, I just think this proffession is a waste because one could master a much more powerful profession with these skill points. This proffession in turn would help the group out alot more. I like the SL bonuses, If they work (I can't tell if they do or not). I think it would make more sense to add these abilities to commando or combat medic vs making it a single proffession. I was not trying to disrespect the proffession I was just astounded to hear that SL deserve tips and i got mad.

btwI am not a holo grinder. My 1st holo said SL and I thought that it would be kool to try this proffession. When I mastered I was somewhat dissapointed and dropped it. I am now doing chef. so just because someone mastered a proffession quickly, don't make him out to bea holo grinder(which I hate).

I hope i didnt make you believe that from what i posted I just think your innate abilities didnt coincide with your game abilties. Holo or not grinders can do some good for some professions. I do believe you have to have or want to have leadership skills to stick with SQL. I will never be uber as a SQL but I can help some of my uber team mates be better. We were massacring rancors last night faster than I could direct their fire it was great fun.
