just as afk dancers and musicians can buff - now you to can get the benefit of an SL who autoinvites and is never home. Perfect for the solo grouper who does not want their SL for anything but the passives and an increase in loot.

hmmm he has edited since i posted this link...

WHAT!?! Is this true?

Great, just another way to make our profession that much less respected.

We are always working on ways to make Grouping more popular, but the quick solo way will always appeal to a large number of players. We just have to find ways to make grouping more effective and to decrease the availability of corrupt systems.

Fixing the range on SL abilities is only one step, we have many more to take.

Nothing in that thread says the toon is a SL.

True, but a SL can be used in the same situation.

I understand that but the original poster implied that it WAS in fact an SL. Rumor mongering and misleading implication are what start problems and frustration in the player base.

Besides, these sorts of scripts have been in use for weeks if not months that I have seen. What makes them now more threatening to SL as a profession?

The threatening part is not that it was being done (though that is bad for the game) but that it is a change in the methods of advertising the service- they are now actively advertising that they have a bot for solo grouping. It is a change in Modus Operandi. The post suggested that they would be advertising like the buff bots do in the cities and on the forums and that would of course demean the need for SL's even more - I have no problem advertising if I am atk but advertising that you can get the benefits I give without being atk (in fact afk) is just wrong. It is nice to see he removed some of the hyperbole.

Basically the threatening idea is the same- it reduces the value of being a squad leader again - something we have worried about for a long time but has been getting progressively worse as of late and with active advertising of Solo Groups it will only get worse.

And once again, I ask how this is solely the territory of the SL. This demeans and devalues every profession that can be played AT or away from the keyboard. I don't like AFK playing anymore than the next person, but this post makes it sound like SL is the only profession affected. It's a bit narrow a view.

This is bad for the game and bad for all professions, not just SL.

It is not solely the territory of SL's but it effects us the most as our profession is just that - leader of a group.
