Im planning on goin SL soon and had a question. If the peeps in my group are Special Forces and im not, will they benefit from SL bonuses?

for group members to be effected you must be the same level or higher to share your benefits.

Special Forces > Combatant> On Leave

Today I was on leave(the last thing I did in game was a Jedi BH mission and I didn't want any hassle)and I grouped with some Combatants today to run the DWB. I did a /formup and went from ""On Leave" to "Combatant."

Does anyone know if I group with SF and do a /formup if I will do the same advancement?

you could try but i would doubt it because it would make a sort of hidden TEF thing like to hide members in your group to go overt..a 30second timer if that isnt that long of a wait tho it could make a difference

Was this instant?

There was a 30 second flip but the formup command happened right away. We were getting buffed so I don't know if anybody received any benefits.
