Hi guys,
Ok, sorry about my ignorant post, but Ive been away for some time, both from the game and from squad leader.
Back in the day, (around launch) I used to lead 20 man groups at the Tusken outpost and it was loads of fun. I picked up SL mainly becuase I used the group messages to direct our unbuffed, unarmored, weakly armed players' fire.
I dropped SL a long time ago because no one groups anymore and every one runs around as a mega tank TKM/Rifleman.
My question is: what will the role of SL be post CURB? Will be needed and effective? Or will it simply be more of the same?

I understand there is an NDA. But perhaps a more general answer to my question is possible. Namely, will there be at least some *theoretical* improvements to SL with the CURB? Or is it already considered OK for now?

The general consensus from those of us who don'thave access to teh CU& Correspondent boards, and thus know nothing, is that:
1. SL will rule, groups will be improtant and,
2. Irott and DiLune are evil incarnate teases.

SL is the best profession in SWG, and with evil teases like irott and DiLune, who could leave us out?

Judging by what Irott has said in other posts, SLs will become the center role in the new combat system. How this works though is protected by an NDA.

add TAfirehawk carbineer correspondent to that list off evil teasers.
and your profession mix, MailekEOC ,at least to my hopes and wishes and guesses, will be certainly one of the most effective uber profession mixes for sl
why I hope that ? ..
oh ...
:-)
nevermind.....

My intentions is also to get 4 skills in force ranged weapon speed. I want my character the ultimate support role, and I think i'll be that.

Well, to be honest, a lot of thought has gone into this question. The general consensus is *NDA*

=)
I thought about going that way too, MailekEOC, but I still need the Medic tree to play unbuffed and help out my medics when I do a hunting party.
Oh and I'm not even glowy by now. To lazy/ to busy doing guild stuff, get that done currently....
Sylow, what do you do with your left 38 Skillpoints ?

Right now my char looks VERY weird, i would say. Currently i have:
Squad Leader: 0034, Carbineer: 4312,Scout: 4044, Marksman 0044, Entertainer 0404, Musician 0040.
The final plan is:
MSL, MC, Scout 4034, Marksman 0044, Entertainer 0400. (I just can't let go of my Kloo Horn... i even by now learned the Western song and i love it...
)
Which leaves me short in terms of medical abilities, but as long as i fight in team, i assume that there's somebody able to heal me... ![]()
[For emergency i got me an advanced R3 with Stimpack-launcher... Stim A doesn't seem like much, but one each 1.5 seconds sure adds up... as long as the droid doesn't run empty, that is...

The new smuggling documents are just that... a new system related to smuggling. They have nothing to do with the Combat Upgrade which is where both the Squad Leaders and Smugglers are getting worked on.
