Thread: Question about SL benefits

I looked through various pages of threads and faqs and didn't see what I was looking for but can anyone tell me if the group benefits only work while grouped or does the squad leader have them in effect at all times even if they are out alone? Thanks and I apologize if the information is there in one of the stickies but I just didn't see it.
SL needs a group for the benefits to accrue.
that being said... grouping with a droid or a pet allows all skills to work.

Ok, then I have a question. Where do we see that in action? What I mean is I do CTRL+C doesnt show the bonuses when im in a group. How do I see it being applied when im in a group?
Damage testing. Group with a friend, get a misison, attack a beast (remember the level) and see how much damage you take. Transfer leadership to the friend, attack the next beast with the same level.
You'll notice that when you're not the leader, you'll take more damage. (Due to no random in damage at the moment, this is easily to be checked...) You can also turn this around, let your friend tank, one time with him and one time with you being the teamleader. Again, you'll see a difference in damage taken. (Though, if he already has good defensive abilities, like most double-combat-masters have, the difference will be tiny.)

Ahh hooked ya! Some one who knows! SO, how tiny is tiny? A double combat elite would not see MUCH of a difference so is it worth the skill points for such an increase?
Hmm, when i hit my private computer (currently at work) i can put in the results i got when testing with a lv. 40 char. For a double elite i would still have to test. I prefered to test with a lower-lv char along as the difference was easier noticeable, actual percentage didn't interest me that much in that moment, i was looking into different team setups and if modifiers worked under them.
(Anyways, values will also differa tiny bit on different double elite characters, it depends on how high the defensive modifiers of the selected classes are.)
And on the part, if it's "worth it", would the group defense bonuses the only thing the SL gives, i would answer with a loud and clear "no". If you take volleyfire and rally into account (and when fighting Krayts, formup also has some value), SL can be considered to be working, despite another combat probably giving you more of an advantage.
So the SL currently is not a "good deal" for the invested skillpoints, unless you know how to have fun with a second class profession. If you know how to do it, SL sure is worth picking up.

But the natural SL defense/acc bonuses will also stack with bonuses from /rally- so that'll add that much more.

I so thought this was a question about Health Care when I first saw the title yesterday.![]()
does that include a dental or vision plan? what about 401(k)?
darth, can you confirm our benefits package? oh, and see if this will apply to a spouse or if he/she will need seperate coverage. thanks!!

Hmm, that is checked and confirmed, group with your droid and you'll get the +30 group defense, both melee and ranged. It doesn't show up on the character screen (what i suggest to put into the top 5 bug list, when that one is made again), but it still works.
Yep, I also was drawn to it for its accuracy / def mods. I figured group with a droid and I should have some kicking numbers. Yet I cannot verify this. I can activate rally and then do CTRL + C and SEE a difference. Yet cannot see the difference with the "innate" mods. I ask myself is it worth it? Answer: I dont know ! It doesnt show an increase.
