I am 1300xp from Ranged 4...then I have to get the 7500 for Novice SL.

I know people are complaining about SLs....and ther abilities...But I am still looking forward to becoming one.

Soloing is nice...But I have more fun in a group....So SL is the right path for me.

My biggest complaint is the speed at which you gain Combat XP...Painstakingly slow.

I made Spec in Pistol, Carbine and Rifle before I was even 5k from Ranged Spec... Thankfully I am maxed at 1240 for Apprenticeship XP...Now I don't have to wait to get Master Marksman....

My big question:

How effictive would a master marksman be as a squad leader? Also have Stimpack Chemist and Diag 2 )for drag incapped)

If you want to be a Squad Leader go find a regular group and hunt with them Learn their strenght/weakness and fighting styles. Hunt with them on a regular basis and go learn skills that compliment their abilities. Don't waste your time getting Squad Leader. It is 90% broken right now and I do not have much faith in the upcoming patch.

Learn from my mistake. Don't be a Squad Leader go become a Combat Medic, or something else,you will be far more useful to your group, at this point even a Chef would be more useful. No offense meantto any Chef's who read this post.

Here's your big answer:

You'll be just as effective as Master Marksmanand a Master Squad Leader as you would if you had Master Marksman andno SL at all.

Don't push the button! Don't take the class. Just walk away man, walk away.

If you were a Master Marksman SL you would be less effective for the group as if you were Master Marksman Master Doc. Or Master Marksman Master Rifleman. Or master Marksman Master BH. SL will not help your ability to lead groups. If you absolutely MUST take it then take up to Mobility III and that's it.None more.

Is Squad Leader *THAT* bugged right now that it's not worth getting?

If you are getting SL to become a better fighter or to make your squad better fighters, you'll be disappointed.

If you are getting SL because you like playing the role of a Squad Leader and being able to help your group a little bit, you'll be OK with it.

If you want to do both (like most of us) you'll be in a horrible place...where you don't want to let it go, but you know you could do so much more for your group as a medic or CH or BH or or or...
