Thread: If SL was to be made like a general, you would need to have this control...

The reason being is that, with control comes order, and with order comes efficiency. So, if we take what a general does in r/l, and apply this to SWG, yes, SL's tell people who to attack and what to do. But, what people are missing is that, each person would still need to play because only they can control their learnt abilities, as the SL can't control their skill, only their order. And I see why the DEVS did this, because if they see people AFK and macroing while the SL works off his arse, they will do what they did with sampling, and find a way around it, so its mandatory to fight. But, I still don't believe that some abilities should be in play. I believbe when they look in SL, they are looking for order. And with order comes faster kills, better XP. And this is why I like their stances idea. I think they should elaborate on this, as well as having seperate squads, some working abilities, and buffs (its a must)...but, I believe that if we took a SL into real life, it would all come down to strategy, and how you would use seperate squads for attacking different weaknesses against creatures, as well as strengthing your squad, as well as, lets say you apply a defensive stance to a sub-squad of melee, making them the tanks, they should get XP for damage they recieve, not just damage applied, or split XP by effort.

I know that was sort of run-on and sometimes off the point, but what I'm trying to get in is that SL needs some extent of control, it can't just be a buff class, because even though buffs are needed, it's not exactly fufilling the potential of being a leader. Instead, without control who are just a poor supporter.

Agent Smith: Have you ever stood and stared at it, Morpheus? Marveled at its beauty. Its genius. Billions of people just living out their lives... oblivious. Did you know that the first SWG was designed to be a perfect human world? Where none suffered, where everyone would be happy. It was a disaster. No one would accept the program.

And with order comes faster kills, better XP.

So why not just have a group buff that increases attack speed and provides an experience bonus to reflect the order we impose upon our group?

The proposed change is about as wanted and as realistic as me having to /bathroom every 15 minutes of gametime so I could eat more food. We don't want that level or realism or detail, we want to play a game and have fun... and be just as useful as other members of the team.

Exactly, a proffesion shouldn't depend entirely on a characters micromanagement skills and how fast they can type in / commands, yeah maybe if this was a FPS and demanded twitch skills, or even a RTS (what these changes seem to mimic) but this is an rpg, and at the core of this proffesion I think the best execution of it would be to make it bard-like
