Thread: Im a Rifleman, is Squad Leader a bad idea?

I think that a Rifleman CAN be a Squad Leader, provided that the following sacrifices are made:

1.) I think that you have to "really" watch the Mind Costs in your Armor attributes. Every little bit adds up, so you will want to keep it low on each piece of armor.

2.) It goes without saying that you are going to want to invest in a Rifle that does maximum damage for minimum mind cost for utilizing special moves.

3.) Purchase foods, drinks, and spices that focus on temporarily raising your mind attributes. Consume them prior to battle.

4.) Don't invoke won-ton Mind-Shot havoc if you plan on being a Squad Leader. Be selective in placing shots that drain from your mind pool. A good Squad Leader knows when it is more beneficial to (big hint)finish off a target with a mind shot, or when to save their mind pools for Squad Leader specials in an emergency.

Hope this helps. May the force be with you. Lead on!

Hello i was just talking to some squad leaders asking questions and one thing that came up all the time was that the specials for squad leader use ALOT of mind, that being said, riflemen specials also use ALOT of mind, even if im zabrak with all mind stats maxed, the mind use of a rifle + squadleader + self healing every now and then would be devistating.

Im just wondering, i love leading my squads (in pve and pvp) so i wanted to take up the squad leader professions, and i love rifles/ sniping so i wanted to take up the rifleman profession, but the two combined = killing myself all the time?

Is there any news at all if any specials are getting the mind use reduced? because if the mind use on both professions were reasonable, than i can just max mind/willpower/focus, rest into health and action, and not have to worry about strength, constitution, quickness, stamina at all.

Or am i just keeping my hopes up for nothing? =)

Dlt20a or E11 is your best bet for a squadleader. Thats what I'm going with right now (Dlt20a for grinding and E11 for raids)

If it helps, I rarely use my mind draining abilities. Not sure how they work while prone....but you will enjoy the group terrain neg (better crawl speed) that you give yourself and others while grouped.

I'm a master rifleman/master squad leader, and I've had no problems. I get incaped more from using my rifle specials than the squad leader ones. At anyrate, I think it's a good combo. I just lead my squad in, let them kill the mobs for the xp they need. I step in with a flushingshot2 when things start to get out of hand though. Other than that, I just run around heal everyone so that they can get the xp (which I thankfully no longer need).
