I'm going Master SL and Master Rifleman. Boy, is it a joke.

Here ischeap replication of a combat log.

You fail to rally the group.

You fail to rally the group.

You fail to rally the group.

You rally the group! (Yay!)

You mindshot2 misses MR n00b.

(nine seconds later) Your headshot3 misses MR n00b.

MR n00b breaths on your mind pool for 3 points of damage.

You have been incompacitated by MR n00b.

(MR n00b) wow i'm so good and i've only played a week!!!1!11!one!!1!threeminustwo!!1!!!!!

I'm shure it will get better once I finally get to master in each, because by then they will probably have changed the whole system around twice. XP is so hard to get for these two professions. I cannot decide which one goes slower or tougher.

I'm sticking it out, and I'm not going to quit. Most importantly, I'm having fun, despite the absurdity of it all.

As much as I have not tested it...try using steadyaim instead of rally. Its been reported that commandos are getting 100% (I really need to see if this is true myself) hits when they have steadyaim. Now the ability only lasts for one shot, but as a rifleman, if that is your most powerful shot, you're really gonna hurt something.

I play with the same combination of rifleman and SL. I don't have any problems w/ rally, steadyaim, mindshot, or headshot. The trick is to balance your skills. All 4 of those use a high percentage of your mind pool, and if your using your mind pool a lot then you need to pump your resources into Focus and Willpower. I have almost all of my extra pool pts pumped into those 2 categories so when i use a mind skill it doesn't take much away, and it doesnt take very long to recharge. I really thing that the best race for this is zabrak simply because of there high willpower capabilities. Change around your stats until you find a combination that best works for you.

"The trick is to balance your skills."

- from my last post

I meant stats, not skills, didn't mean to confuse anyone

I'm a master Squadleader/Master rifleman. I found it easier to get the SL xp than the rifle Xp personally. I'm rather liking the combo. I can lead my squad into a fight and still have enough ham to pull em out of the fire with some well placed specials. (How I love flurryshot2).

Well i just have one question for ya. You are SL (uses Mind) and Rifleman (mind) you are brave. Can you give me some insight on why you chose 2 prfoessions that use the same pool? I am a SL/Carbineer. Oh yea about the Rally, i rally my group before a big battle if it fails repeatedly i sit and wait of course. Then usually when i get up it pops up the flags. Now in the heat of battle when the rally leaves, i try ONCE, if it dont work then i just do steady aim for my squad. Especially if we have a commando. They do some serious dmg. Thought i would throw in some insight. Good Luck!

The bigger the group the more experience you get. Yet still it is sometimes difficult to get a good group together.

I took up the rifle before I discovered SL took mind as well. Still, I have no problems. I just don't use the SL abilities as much(being as they don't tend to work anyway). I'll rally every now and then, but the main one I use is form up. Being as not everyong gets dizzy/stunned that often, it's no major ham drain, and I can still pumel away with my rifle specials. And if I don't have the ham for a rifle special, well, high damage rifles fired at one shot per second tend to be rather nice......

Here's one for you, I am a Squad Leader (3,3,3,3) and RifleWoman (4,2,3,3) and Medic (2,2,0,0). All three professions use mind, and I find that I can balance them quite nicely. I am not a Zabrak, in fact I am a Twi'lek. My Mind, Focus and Willpower are at 1100, 500, 500.

In combat, I use a T21 with +30% speed -15% mind upgrade and a Laser with the same upgrade. I start combat with a bleed from my T21 (or concealshot if I am going that route) and switch to the faster laser for Headshot3 or Flurryshot (depending). As for SL, I use Rally sparingly because it hinders harvesting, crafting, and dragging incapped group members out of melee range to heal them (which is primarily what I use the medic skills for) and usually lasts just long enough to be annoying after combat is over. I do use Formup and Volleyfire fairly often, Sometimes steadyaim, but I haven't noticed that it has much effect.

The end result is, after combat I generally have about 1/2 my mind left and it's back by the time the group jogs to the next mission. The only time I really get into trouble is when something manages a mind strike on me. (Or gets into melee range, but that's a completely different story)
