Thread: Carbine and Squad leader?
The person sitting at the keyboard maked the squad leader. If you don't like to/aren't comfortable with taking charge, don't go SL. The buffs and skills aren't worth it.
I do see potential in the carabine/BH mix though. ![]()
I did a quick check, and the BH/Carabine mix will give you around +155 accuracy, and about the same speed bonus. That and a whole host of specials to choose from.
You'll have 13 points left over if you do Master Carabineer and -/4/-/- BH. Not enough to spend on novice med. Do you have anything in mind? (You have already mastered marksman and scout) An idea would be to go into ranger. Conceal and Area Track would both be useful, though you only have enough points for one of them. ![]()
I'm a carbineer and the consensus is that BH and carbineer is probably the most potent offensive combo in the game allowing incredible speed and damage, another very good combowould becarbineer and doctor as the buffs go along way to counter the high HAM costs of most carbine weapons.
And if you want something really easy go carbineer and creature handler then you don't ever have to worry about being hurt as you hide behind your pet and you can complain when they don't give you 40k missions anymore that no one else could possibly do, but wait now you get to go out and spend a couple of minutes to tame a newbie pet and sell it for 50k you greedy #$@*!

Master Carabineers can't hold their own?
Rifleman/SL is a fun mix. Both specials use mind. ![]()
I'm Carb/SL, with some medic skills. If you wanta strong combat character this is not the way to go, it will not make you a soloist by any means. Dr/CH/BH are the classes that will cover your weaknesses as a Carbine user. Theoretically a Carb SL should be very effective since you will always be grouped and should have a lot of chances to bring your AoEs into play. If you are not in a PA or do not have a lot of friends to team up with regularly expect to spend a lot of time group begging. You can solo appropriate content effectively if you use drugs/food/buffs.
It's an interesting combo but frustrating since you will be combining twounderdeveloped classes that do not cover each other's weaknesses. One interesting thing about this combination is that you will do less Damage over Time than other elite offensive characters of equivalent skill. This will increase your SL xp intake making up for your losses in Carbine xp when groupingdue to lower overall damage.
I think that the DEVs will eventually change SL so that it doesn't take so much mind since every SL on this forum agrees that its harsh the way it is. But as a SL I like to be able to stand back a bit and watch the overall battle while still participating and also get in close and help out, so carbine gives me that option.
If you want to be a soldier, dont go with SL. Cause leading and organizing is what it's all about.
