I'd like to see some form of Squad Leader bonus icon whereby I know whenand exactly how a Squad Leader is enhancing my character.

I think this would help create a sort of 'demand' for squad leader skills -- right now players just don't notice the benefits from a Master Squad Leader.

I'd also like to see a form of "Squad Leader Waypoint": when grouped with a Squad Leader, the entire group can see one (and only one) waypoint [of a certain color, let's say green] produced by the SL. This would help avoid downtimes produced by groupchatting coordinates and emailing waypoints.

When a SL rallies a group a flag appears beside the group members names in the status box, and when he orders a retreat you burst run. Other than that we have nothing that lasts long. Form up clears dizzy/stun, Steady Aim increases aim for your next attack, Volley Fire has everyone fire at the SLs target, and Boost Morale spreads the groups primary wounds around. If you're paying attention you'll see words across the screen saying what the SL is doing, ie: "Your Squad Leader orders you to form up, strengthening your combat resolve." Think that's it...

The waypoint ability sounds nice, according to the loading screen you're supposed to be able to see your groups wps anyway, but maybe that's been changed in everything except the loading screen...kinda like the description of Selonians with a Jawa picture...

It was the passives I had in mind when making the suggestion. Take the new "Buff Icon Toolbar". Right along with the Dancer's Mind Buffs and the Doctor's Action Buffs I'd like to see a single Squad Leader Icon in there that said, for example,

[Squad Leader]
+35 bonus to melee defense
+15 bonus to ranged defense
Squad Burst Run (22 seconds remaining)
