Thread: My attempt to alert the rest of the world...

I just posted a rather heated topic on the main discussion boardin the spirit of those other topics that were responses to things which are now nerfed (knockdown, CHs, etc). If you agree with what I say in the post, then please help to keep it active. Posting stuff on that board seems to be the only way to alert the DEVs to any sort of complaints or angst.

Check it out. If you don't agree with me, that's fine; if you do, that's great-- just try to keep the thread above water.

I agreed and said so.

Bumped and one player's comments added. Probably won't matter a hill of beans, but maybe some of the other players will be intrigued enough to come and take a look at what the developers are proposing for their PCs. Make no mistake, the alterations to Squad Leaders will affect more than just the members of that profession.

I want viable Squad Leaders, because I want to be part of a group that has one.

What I find tragically amusing is that when you read the vast majority of posts on these boards, when people want to joke or argue about being the most broken, they talk tabout DEs, BEs, and Commandos.

I agree that all three are bad off, but we're the worst of the lot. DEs can at least make droids. Commandos can at least use their weapons.

We're so broken that no one even knows!

I've said it before, I'll say it again.

We spent 135 points for a chat function.

Now now, we give +60 to terrain negotiation too.

Right. +60 Group Terrain Negotiation. It's all so clear to me now.

What's wrong with +60 Group Terrain Negotiation?

There is nothing wrong with it. It's currently one of our OWN TWO SKILLS that do a **edit** thing.

The problem comes in spending more than 50% of my skill points in order to get that bonus. I could master an entire second Combat Profession for 135 skill points. But instead I got Group Terrain Negotiation and /sys.

THAT'S the problem.

Okay, but that's what we're working for here - is to make our class more effective and hence worth the time and costs to become a Squad Leader. I guess it just seems like beating a dead horse at this point - we all know there are problems with our class and we're all working towards getting them fixed.

well for one, nothing over 50 terrain negotiation really does anything (1-50 is hill movement, 50+ is prone movement) and i'd guessmimate that 85% of the people who join my groups have some scout skills.

I've had a total of 6 people that I can remember that have fallen behind while the group was moving because they were without exploration skill; out of probably at least 200-300 people i;ve grouped with that have fallen behind
