Thread: RALLY: Uses, strategy, timing? I need advice.

Just got rally the other day, and the only thing I can make of it is that it fails 3 out of 5 times... So I need advice on its benefits, strats, and correct timing of use.

1) Benefits. On those rare occasions I getRally to work, I can't really tell if it's benefitting my group at all. Do we have any hard facts on the affects Rally has? Anyone calculated percentages of offensive and defensive mods? Maybe I need to go do a controlled test withjust me and a handful of petsagainst some predictable mobs. Do you think the Rally benefit scales more or less depending on group size?

2) Timing/Strategy. The failure rate is horrendous for this skill. Bye-bye mind pool. A friend SL of mine told me that he gets into combat and after getting hit a bit, does a /peace;/rally;. He said his failure rate was much lower. So I tried it and it seems like my failure went from 4/5 fails to 2/5 (still bad, but better). Does anyone else have advise on Rally timing? When do I use it and under what optimal conditions?

Thanks!

The more knowledgable fighters in my groups tend to notice when Rally is in effect. Certain specials (like knockdown) tends to work better when rally is up. However, as a Ranger/Squad Leader I have one major gripe about Rally. Having Rally up will not allow harvesting. You get the same message "Cant harvest while in this state" that you would if you were stunned or dizzied. I think this is a bug and I have submitted it as such.

I have a good mind pool, (8k, 5k, 7k)and for some reason I don't miss Rally that much. Yesterday on Dath (fun times:smileyhappyI hit rally four times without a miss.

I usually hit it before we go up against a formidable opponent.

Also, you cannot diagnose or sit down while rallied.
