With the upcoming Jump to Lightspeed, and people making early preparations for taking to space, I have been spending some time thinking about what exactly our role will be among the stars. If we are able to lead a group of people over land, then why not in space. Do not the same traits of leadership still apply? I think it would be fairly easy to add some space based skills to the profession (such as space vessel attack accuracy, manuverability, and acceleration mods, etc.) What are your thoughts on this? Is there a reason why Squad Leader benefits should NOT apply in space? Also, what skills do you see the SL granting to his squadron, and at what skill boxes do those skills become aquired?

An interesting prospect, but I'd really rather see them fix the ground-based part of our profession before they try putting wings on it.

Technically you do have "Squadron Leaders." However, a squad leader (like us) is supposedly trained specifically for ground operations. That's why we have things like group terrain negotion, etc.

The "Squadron Leader" if by some chance were to ever come into play, should be it's own profession based on space tactical warfare. Not ground.

The 2 are quite different. We're more of a Foot soldier Strike team. They're flying aces.
