Thread: Brainstorm... so simple it may just work!

I was just hunting some AVain meat with my Squad Leader this morning and an idea just popped into my head... ALL professions may like this but I think Squad Leader will the most... please tell me what you think. I'm sort of thinking it out as I go so if some holes appear ... it just because I JUST thought of it and wanted to see what people thuogh:


First off... this would be very easy to impliment I would emagine because all it really intales is adding skill mods to all professions...



What if EVERY profession contained skills mods for OTHER professions ... with Squad Leader recieving the most!


Examples:


Dancer (a very nimble person) thus somewhere in the dancer tree would be a +## to Dodge.


Tailor (needs to know the body) thusImage Designer would have+## to Tailor experimentation or crafting skills.


Musician (very steadyfingers to play insturment) for an increase in ranged Accurcy


Chef (understanding of chemicals) may receive bonus to Doc healing


Doc improves Chef Crafting


Bio Engineering and Combat Medics enhance each other


An Droid Engineer that have Installtion branch of Architech could make better Droids.


A commando with Architech will do more damage to Towers


A Rifleman with Bio-Engineering will have increase damage in PvE with the understanding of how the animal lives.


Rangers increase range of ranged attacks


TKA and Fencer could add healing bonuses to Dancers


Merchant increases overall crafting


Weaponsmithing would increase Accuracy and/or damage of all combat profs.


Politician increases bonus of Merchants


These are just some that I though of just looking through the Trees real fast with out going in depth. I think it will promote combat profs with combination of non-combat profs.


Now Squad Leader will be the improve all of profs. Have EVERY profession comtain Squad Leader Mods that only deal with that profession. So, the other professions that the SL is will enhance when grouped.


For example:


Squad Leader Alpha is MSL with Master Pistoleer with some Entairtainment on the side. When grouped with this SL, the group will receive the normal bonuses that just being SL gives then everyone using Pistols would receive more bonuses and the entertainers would also recieve a little.


Squad Leader Beta is MSL with Pistoleer 0404 (Speed and Accuracy Branches) with Entertainer 003 (Wound Healing Branch) and Medic 4000 (Injurgy Healing Branch). Thus ... the group receive normal SL bonus then all Pistoleers would receive bonus to their speed and Accuracy but not all the bonus as Squad Leader Alpha had. The entertainers and medics would both receive healing bonues.


Squad Leader Gamma is MSL with Master Marksmand and Scout with just the harvesting line of Ranger. Those grouped with him will receive basic bonues then all marksmen will get bonuses... and all harvesting will get bonues.



I see that basically a Squad Leaderis able to lead his group well... but can lead his group in the skills that he knows... ever better!


Now the down fall to this idea I see is that EVERYONE will become MSL + Favorite Profession. There are 2 ways around this:


1) Let it happen since SL is so many Skill Points ... it leaves room for only 1 more Master Prof which limits a player in other ways.


OR


2) The Squad Leader himself does NOT receive any of the bonuses from his own Profession. Basically... the SL can't Double Dip his skill mods.


Ok - Rip it apart... it was off the top of my head... I'm sure there are holds but the over all concept I hope it understandable. What do you think?
