Hiya All!
Recently with the cost of speeder upkeep, and the ever present threat of having my speeder shot out from under me, I have begun to seriously look into purchasing a mount. However, before I do, I wanted to know what my limitations are. I do know that you are not able to use speacials like "OverCharge Shot 1" or something on a mount, but what about our Squad Leader commands, like Retreat or Form Up? Do I have to be on the ground to do this. I ask b/c, logically, I think that at least an SL should be able to call commands from a mount. It would be no different then a real world officer calling commands from his horse, in a battle like the US. Civil War, or from cinima, the Lord of the Rings. Thus, have any of you SL's been adventurous and purchased a mount, and tried out your commands?

no, you can't. It's been a wish since mounts came out, but nope, no specials...

I think it would be interesting for Rangers, Squad Leaders and Creature handlers to be able to do certain specials from mount back.
I was a master ranger at one time and I had wished for this a lot.

The issue, it seems, with specials on mounts is having to revamp the animations for them.
Yes, I know, this seems to be lame; some specials (tumble to prone, anyone?) obviously present a problem, but it should be simple to get around that.
Should be.
One thing SLs can do, though, is speed up galloping creatures with the retreat command. DiLune did this himself with me and some others on Dantooine just after the mount publish.
