Squad Leader Archive

Hello everyone,

I'm not new to SWG by any means. I've been playing off and on since release but I have always played solo. I went the way of Ranger and pretty much stuck to myself. I'm not particularly skilled in anything or knowledgeable about the game but I really want to start getting more involved with other people in game. This is a mmorpg after all.

With that said, I am considering picking up Squad Leader. I took a quick glance over some of the FAQs and am just curious about whether or not you would recommend this profession for a casual gamer. I only play a few hours a night but I thought going Squad Leader might force me to interact more with other players. I'm just interested in knowing what the ups and downs of the profession are.

It can be fun but the skills are not at all useful without a group. If you expect to be able to get into a group with friends everyday then it is quite nice. If you have to find a group, it means you will likely be looking in one of the grinding spots (not many group mission runners around). You will run into both good and bad people there. You will run into a few bad apples this way but, if you are able to put up with them, this can be fun way to meet new people.
