Thread: Are we not big enough...

Are we not big enough whiners? Is that our problem? We are probably the most mature batch of the populace, and clearly the most patient, is that why SOE seems to feel they can take their time with our revamp? I will be a squad leader till the day the servers shut down, or I am forced to quit SWG for some reason, but honestly we are about 6 months overdue on our revamp, and what appears to be atleast 3 publishes behind from that of what was stated at Fan Fest. Now I am a very tolerant, and even considered a great defender of SOE's actions.(I have defended the Jedi stuff, despite being a hardcore anti-jedi, I defended the CU to the point my boss got irratated with me, and I am defending TOW....) But honestly, 2 and a half years with a "Broken" proffession tests my limits. Now, I know we are not "broken" if you know what you are doing. But at the same time, we do need attention paid. The differences we make, are rarely easily distinguishable, by those of the group.

*Rant: OFF*

I feel better now....Just wanted to say something, to my fellow Squad Leaders.

Fixed. At one point, the In Concept / Development Docs said that theSL Revamp was to have been publish 10... but then 9 and 10 became the Jedi Revamp.

Sometimes we just need to vent, just remember to relax for awhile and not let the troops see you drunk or otherwise impaired.

The squeaky wheel gets the grease!

You will never see a Jedi/SL. It is good in that I would feel insulted (as an SL), but that does mean we aren't that popular. Don't worry, right now there is NOTHING that is getting the attention it needs.

funny, i just got FS and my visit from The Old Man. shortly after logging off that session i was on the profession calc figuring out how i can be a 'Jedi Leader'. its even a build with Master Squad Leader in it!

no it wont be a great template and it wont dominate the battle field. but squad leader has never been about dominating the battlefield, but winning it.

Well I meant there will never be a Jedi/SL not because of skill points, but because they are opposite. Jedi, and for once I don't mean this in a bad way, are about power. They get their skills to make themselves powerful, and if they can help out others that is good too. I know a lot of jedi healers, but they are healers because it helps them as much as everyone they are with. SL, or MSL, requires you to use skill points to help out a group. They do help you, but if you want to be more capable for yourself you would not pick it. Jedi and SL just go against each other. If SL was required to make a group, that would be different, but that would just kill us

MSL / Jedi right here just not finished with template. I have no intention of ever dropping MSL for Jedi skills. I believethe blue text refers more to what is refered to as jeedeye, the leet dudes who run around Theed like chickens with their heads cut off lowering the light bill of the entire planet with their glowsticks. Those are the players after the I PWN JOO skillz, the ones who are after maximizing their personal affectiveness, and most of them wouldn't look twice at SL before they unlocked, much less afterwards.

AreSL and Jedi opposites? No more then a melee SL, both are combat profs. Do they mess well to create an uber template, not really but I'm not after uber, heck the CU freaked me out when I realized I could solo stuff as a MSL / Mrifles simply due to the CL 80 rating if I wanted to and out damage the majority of the people Iplay with! My skill selection will not be an uber selection, but one which leaves me with a good selection to mesh with my favored squad, compliment SLand allows me to continue having fun. If I wanted to be more capable for myself, I never would have picked MSL in the first place or held it the entire duration of my toon.

Someone else posted in another threadthey know a Jedi SL on their server, and that person reports it works well for them. I think if you are willing to play a MSL, you are willing to make any combination, no matter how bizzare, effective to your playstyle and have fun doing it.

And in all honesty Loki, that is why you're the only Jedi I respect in the game. I have yet to see one that is after both personal AND group benefits. Most the Jedi I know of are only in it for themselves. As little as I know about the whole Jedi crawl, anyone who does that is a respectable Jedi in my book and that is the way that I play Talley. Yeah, sure I'm in it for myself, but only to make the group better. To make myself more effective as an SL. During quests with friends, just to protect them, I will shoot every critter/npc if someone is getting the snot beat out of them, I don't care if I get incapped (I do), but if I can get them out of harms way first, then they can come and help me. Most people have a small problem with that, but it is who I am and how the toon is.

/salute Loki

Well, people ask me how I can be a MSL/MBH, but as you said, it works well for me.

The jedi thing wasn't just the leet pwners. All the jedi I know are this way. They use all their skills for the good of the group. However, if it could not help them, then they would not get it. That's a fact for most people, and I'm really not saying anything bad about them. Jedi however are just like that. The people that get jedi just because they always wanted to be one, they are just rarely seen, especially not in Theed killing people. It just seems opposite mindset to me, as jedi is a powerful and versatile class, but everything is for the good of the jedi and a few help the group. SL, everything helps the group. Most skills help the SL too, but only if in a group. This is one of the few posts I'm not actually trying to say something bad about jeedeye

Lets have our Jedi/SL Complain <_<

That would require spending more time in the jedi forums then I can tolerate.
