Don't you feel SL's should be in demand?

I wasn't too surprised to see that SL was among the least played profs..... but THE least played in a time when we have to group to kill anything other than a kreetle, seems absurd to me.........

If SLs gave xp bonuses, they would. Unfortunately, they don't and everyone grinding wants that slot for someone who can do damage.

As this effect (xp bonus) is already given to the entertainers and giving this to the SL would just nerf the already hard nerfed entertainers since the removal of battle fatigue (which was a very unique and realistic feature of the PRE CU SWG system) I would say to this that: No.

It also doenst fit into the "role" of a squad leader within an group. A squad leader should improve you while being in combat, what should result indirect in a higher XP gain while grouped with him, being able either to defeat your opponents faster, taking on more at a time or being able to take on higher lvl oppononents.

Still grinding XP is just a wide spread and common disease within in SWG, rather than playing your profession and/or character having fun doing quest/missions/base slicing together with your friends.

p.s.
My guild, as well ranged as well melee, would take me as a SL in their group rather than another damage dealer sometimes even rather than a MCM, since all PvP templates usually can heal themself.
Dont ask my why, but they love my rally and volleyfire .

I have to say that on Chilly, When peeps see me in the MO with my Master SL tag on, I get tells like mad asking me to join their group. People like having me along for rally and the bonus defenses. Hey makes me feel loved and Im glad I never see any other SLs on my server cause Im in demand hehe

I see that a lot of newbies, or people that weren't around before the CU, they want me to lead them. They aren't stupid, they don't think I am the one that should lead them, but I've actually had to turn my "Automatically Reject Group Invitations" off because they wouldn't leave me alone (I was afk at the time). However, players that are after the grind, especially those on Dantooine, will consider your title as nothing different than the rest. If your CL is 80 or a lightsaber is in your hand, that's all they seem to care about.

Entertainers need more help than we do, since that was brought up. Removing BF was a blow to my heart, just because of how much time I've spent in a cantina. XP is what people want, therefore SLs should NOT get it. We are a strategic profession, used to help the group. We should help them in our own way, a way that no other profession can.

qfe, great idea, imo. That would really help the demand for SL in groups.

My thoughts to this:

  • if case we would increase XP for the team, we'd be welcome in grind groups... and nowhere else. If you want to spend the rest of your playing time there, wish you fun. I don't.

  • People who think that the pure damage dealing capacity of an8th man is more valuable than an SL have serious problem with math. In an 8 man team, the SL is basically 2 men in terms of damage... no other profession can match the damage increase of volley fire.

  • I agree that the SL looks weaker than other profession and is way below its potential. We can use some serious upgrading to stand up to the standards of other professions, but a bonus for XP is the last thing we need. The SL must be made attractive in a general way, not grind group specific.

So, all in all it's one of the worst "improvement" ideas for the SL i heard since some time, i am sorry.
