Thread: MSL+MCM
As long as you can stand being only support and no firepower, this combination is very welcome on the team. You'll have your teammates targeted almost all of the time and just are healing and coordinating. (If you follow the approach with the targeter being somebody else but you, which is very adviseable when you do your medic work, you'll also fire your volledfire through the targeter to give the damage boost on the currently focused target.)
Wow Inenout you are a MSL/MCM? That's great! I've seen you around ![]()
My only problem with being a pure support, is that it is pure support. I too frequently am alone or among newbies, I need to be sure I can handle myself. Otherwise, I would think those are very ideal. It takes away having to direct a CM in your group to certain targets, and that can be a lot. *cheers* ![]()
I use MCM/MSL as my template, and I've thoroughly enjoyed it.
The only problem I find is that zipping around throwing CM debuffs at mobs is very good for crowd control, but plays havoc with pass-through assist targeting - so there's a clash there between the useful CM skills and the useful SL skills. Still, the squad can usually be educated to stick to the VolleyFire target while you run round throwing the debuffs.
Be prepared with this template to do pretty low damage yourself - you're very much a support template, keeping the group as a whole focussed and out of trouble, occasionally getting in default attacks (you have no weapon specials beyond the standard ranged shot) when you're not firing CM or SL specials. Also carry lots of mind food, and don't worry about action costs.
As to what to use the remaining SPs on - if you're a support CM, then you'll almost certainly want to take Medic xx4x, to pick up the DragIncap skill - very useful for getting dead teammates into a safe place to rez them. I haven't quite decided what to use my other SPs on (been playing around with the Mos Eisley noob quests recently
) - there's not really enough after DragIncap to be able to get much beyond Novice Pistoleer. Perhaps Novice Doc would be useful to get more healing options, and limited wound healing.
You might also want to consider building in one of the less popular base-busting professions - I think you may just have enough SPs left for Novice BE, which along with SL is one of the harder profs to find for a raid.
but I might just ditch the pistoleer and grab XX4X in medic and 4XXX in scout so I can peg it about and heal people etc

ok now my dilemma...what do i do with the 37 SP i have left..b/c i believe (if my math is correct) MCM+MSL takes 213 SP..i assume combat skills..but what?..carbs?..pistols?..rifles? and what skils from whatever one..now keep in mind my main role is support...but i need to be able to stay alive...lol
Um...if you really want to be support...why not put them in doc? 14+14+6=34. At least u get the extra med eff to make your heals stronger
I'm grinding this temp at the moment. I think I will add Pistoleer 0031 to that, for some extra support abilities : intimidate shot and stopping shot. I know these won't be the improved version and will be less effective, but these were the best abilities I found in the pistoleer tree to complete my full support temp.
I don't really think pistoleer has some real firepower (I would take rifle for that), so I prefer taking the support abilities than body shot, cause I'll definitely will never be a damage dealer. My 2 cents ![]()
