Thread: Squad Leader ability to declare...

What if....

A squad leader was like a mobile recruiter. When you reach master, people come to you to delcare or go overt. Just can't buy any faction items from you. It would use make them more useful.

A covert party goes into a town, they go into a hotel, come out full fledged (Imperial/Rebel).

I love this idea and I always have. I wouldn't put it at #1 with passive combat bonuses or #2 or #3 with command fixes and other things, but I wouldn't mind parking this at #5.

I believe the SL should have to be Overt him/her self

....in order to declare other people. That's fair. I like that.

OK, I am not a SL, but that is the first time I ever hear that idea and I think it rocks! If you want to make it tightly regulated you could put it at master SL and he has to be overt to pass on the overt status, as well as be part of the SL masters group. Now that would be a crazy usefull idea, even let them obtain the title of reqruiter so that the other faction players know they can go to them to obtain overt.

Now, I think the idea that you would have to be master SL, overt and grouped with them would be very important for it would limit those with the ability and give SL an excellent reason to master. As well as reduces the number of people that can do it, for too many would make it.... suck in many pvp battles.

Kill the reqruiter, take away his overt status and he can no longer make people overt, that way the battles would not cycle on forever.

Great idea man, great!

Exactly,

It can't be too convenient, but being Master and Overt, should cap it nicely. I don't see any immediate problems.... can you?

I kinda took this idea and added it to something else I was thinking... I was kinda nuts whenI wrote it but you should be able to get the idea.

[Airlift]

So in general the idea is that the SL would have to be overt first... and then be in an Advanced Ranger camp to use the declare skill.

I defintially agree with this, alot. Only problem is that the devs are going to say "No one forces you (SL's) to participate in the GCW" aka if only factional SL's can use it... they wont put it in.

Its not meant to be forced. Its meant so that if something is up, and covert agents want to go overt, they don't need to run to a recruiter in a seperate city. The Squad Leader can't make you go overt, unless you request. This can be coded like "teach".
