I picked up novice SL last night not because a holo told me to but because I thought it would be interesting to try out.

So my question is.

What would be the best path to follow to master? What skill trees first and which commands are the most effective?

In my opinion, /rally is the best SL command. Thats one reason why it was the first tree I completed...

However it mainly depends what your fighting. If your hunting, /formup would be useful. PvP, /focusfire could take out your nieghboorhood commando. All the skills are useful, it just depends what you fight.

As for getting SL XP, just group up with as much PC's/pets as you can, and go hunting on an advanced planet. Got master in two weeks from hunting once every few days on Lok.

Personally, I think the passives are the best abilities to get first. I started out as 0-0-3-4 and then worked my way from there. As far as group commands go, the best I have used yet is /retreat. It works great for brawlers and other non-ranged characters to get in close on ranged enemies quickly with minimal damage (I use it to attack...not retreat.

Next, I plan to go for the tree on the left hand side as the group burst run effeciency ratings look attractive.

Burst run bonuses are almosst pointless, except for in retreat situations. The terrain negotiations sometimes help out brawlers, but fiew others.

I, personally, went 1/1/1/1 then 2/2/2/2 and so on. Still working towards master. :-)

Basically, it doesn't matter a whole lot, though I would probably get, in this order, /steadyaim, /formup, /rally, then the terrain negotiation.
