Hey all, I'm fairly new to the SL profession. I have reached 0/2/1/0 on the tree so far and climbing.... I was messing around with /sys last night and(using the Official SL Guide FAQv3.1) tried out some verbal macros, but without much success. Seems I can change the color of my message using the manual /sys, but could'nt get it to work using a macro. Am I doing something wrong? As I am using the fairly straightforward guide, is it not working? Perhaps an example of a proper macro would help me if anyone has one...please and thx. (I just want to change the colors on certain /sys messages, butany other usefulSL macros would be appreciated) Rhime

/sys \#ffff00\ Concentrate all firepower on %TT!!

/sys \#00ff33\ Its time to kick some ass squad, MOVE OUT!!

Good of you to look for Knowledge around here, there's lots of it floating around in our Brain Housing Groups.

Here are some that I set up for myself.

/alais /sl /sysgroup \#ff1111 that sets all your sysgroup messages to a nice red color (think I got the syntax and the spelling right for it anyways, feel free to let me know if I didn't)

/sl Target %TT. Send the pets and prepare to open fire!!

/steadyaim; /rally (set them up on my task bar so they only a click away, saves time instead of hitting 2 buttons, I only hit one for them both)

the possibilites are endless here.

You can set some up so that you can let everyone know the Rules for any of your hunting trips you take out.

For any batles you run, to let them know to mount up and head out. Endless ideas you can have for them. Maybe something as simple as a message to fall back, or Breack Contact with %TT, etc

Note: there's a slight error in MalakPathfinder's post. When creating an alias, you do NOT puta slash ("/") in front of the alias command text. His example should read "/alias sl /sysgroup .....", not "/alias /sl /sysgroup...".

Ahh, the frustration sets in...ok, tried to set the color using the /alias sl /sysgroup \#FF0000 command and while I did get an "alias set", any messages typed with /sl or /sysDID'NT change the message to red. I'm not sure why it's not working...did the color macro get nerfed with the last big patch too along with coloring items? As I said before, manually typing /sys \#FF0000\<message> is working for me.

Any ideas? Rhime

Txs man.

I figured I might have it wrong, I set that alias a couple of months ago.

Dont know ifsl does work, i use/sl all the time for mine.

There are so many things that can be done thru these alias

Typing /sys by itself will never automatically set the text to anything but white... you can't override the default behavior of a command. Also, there seem to be a few "dead" aliases lying about. Some alias strings ("sl" might be one of them... I know at least one acronym that would be convenient for SL's is dead) cannot be used in aliases. If you try and set an alias with such a string, the system will tell you the alias was set correctly, but your custom command will not respond under that alias no matter what. Try changing the alias acronym to something else... I believe I use /sg.

InfluenzeSWTA, thanks for the tip! /sg works! Led a team last night on a raid to Triconica(Flurry) and the SL messages were colorized making it easy for all to see... Now, to figure out the other common macros. Wish me luck...hehe. Rhime
