Recently my Holocron told me to become a Master Squad Leader... and before that a Master Dancer. Okay sounds simple enough, join a big group and blow things up. However where do I find a big group? I have a PA but due to real life getting in the way, I wont be able to go along on there weekly hunts. So to all the Master Squad Leaders.. any suggestions for a newbie?

We'll looks like the 6 masters out there decided not to respond. I'm not quite a master (seeing no point in using up skills before they fix the profession) but I have been in SL since day 1.

The best way to get experience is to, put up your novice squad leader title and advertise. Pester your friends, pester your neighbors, pester people passing by in the city. 1 night of hunting will usually earn me 500k in experience with 4 group members. Do not necessarily go after the biggest monsters you can find, many small guys usually give more experience than one big one, and are alot easier to take out quickly.

Hope you find Squad Leader as a more rewarding profession than just a holocron grind.

Very very simple.. Follow the holocron hunters. Best places I've found so far have been the Imperial Base on Naboo and the Force Caves on Dantooine (I don't know of any static Rebel bases that drop holos). In general from what I've found, Darktroops give less xp per kill, but there are more kills. Force sensitives give more xp but you have to wait a while longer for the respawn.

Naboo is good because there is a better chance of another player Squad Leader being somewhere on Naboo to get training, and if not there's an NPC trainer in Moenia (I'm pretty sure). If you're on Dantooine, you have to run through hostile territory to the nearest shuttle, and then make your way to either Naboo, Talus, or Tatooine for training.

Either way you choose should get you racking up xp in no time. I would suggest going to the Naboo Imperial Base first because you'll need to train more often with the lower boxes. After you get 2/2/2/2 head off to Dantooine and camp the Force Caves, max your xp and then ship off.

Another thing I would suggest is asking around the Cave or Base is whether there are any groups that you could join and become leader in. Even bargain with them and say that you won't loot and that you're their to get SL xp. I've found this usually works. One of the best strategies while at the Force Caves is to gather up everyone who isn't with a guild group to rally to 'win the loot'. That should be incentive enough for people to join your group rather than go solo. Always get a full group of 20, and always make sure they are attacking if there are spawns. If everyone in a 20-man group is attacking you'll be getting 25-50k xp per kill.

Good luck!

You can't go on your PA's weekly hunt?

Make your own! Get online, and tell all the PA members you can find that you're going to organize a hunt for big creatures. Sharnaffs missions on Corellia or Kamuriths on Dathomir are my personal favorites. Everyone will get a chunk of change, some good xp, and you should get SL xp faster than you can train it. You might want to hire another SL to train you.

Or if you do it on Corellia...work out of a player city and ask them to drop a Squad Leader trainer in the city for you. When you max out your xp, fly back to the city on your vehicle, train, and return to your group.

Here's what you do. Have you made Squad leader yet?

Go to Ft. Tusken, get in a group as the squad leader, set up a big camp and run your entertainer macro. You will be more useful to the group if they can come and heal at your camp. Then go AFK, get some sleep, watch a movie. Come back...let your group know that you are going to go train your useless squad leader abilities but you will be back to dance again in a bit. Find a squad leader to train you or go to the Trainer in Bestine and pay for it. You should make master in a night or two.

Then, drop squad leader and go do your next Holocron profession.

Good Luck!

If I ever run out of Apprentice-XP I guess I'd haunt the vicinity of Ft. Tusken - with all those Holocron-SLs I could get capped again in no time...
