Greetings...I am considering taking up the SL profession...but I have a quick question.

Is it possible to get SL xp with just your pets and no other players in your group?

Answer: Yes, you do getLeadership experience by grouping with pets. However,you will find that Squad Leader XP accrues MUCH faster if there are other actual players in your group. Squad Leader XP is calculated on a formula thatscales the total combat-relatedXP by the number of people in your group, so if you'rekilling on your own with just a pet, you'll receive a small amount of slxp. But if you'releading alarge group that is killing effectively, the experience will pour in faster than you can spend it on training!

If you aren't planning to lead actual people, there isn't much reason to be a Squad Leader.We're rare enough that you shouldn't have trouble getting people to accept you as the leader before you become a Master. So although it's nice to pick up a bit of xp while you're out hunting solo, it is a much better idea to actually work your profession as intended and practice leading real groups.

I think you might think, Molem, that a 0-0-0-0 Novice Squad Leader would not be able to do much in the way of leading an effective hunt. But quite the contrary. The most important command you have as SL is /sys and you get it AT NOVICE level! You also get some small bonuses for the group I believe.

At any rate, you should go somewhere where it is crowded and just shout out that you are forming a hunting group. If you keep shouting and wait for about half an hour maximum you'll find there are always people who want to hunt medium-sized creatures (not just the Krayt or Kimogilas or Rancors). Soon you will have about 10 or more people and you then tell everyone to get missions from the basic mission terminal to a specific direction and voila! You will be a master SL in about two days. Its that quick with a group like that.
