Hey everyone!

I recently found my holo pointing me in the direction of the path of Squad Leader.....which is a pleasant suprise to me. I am able to achieve it while still keeping my Mastery in Weaponsmith.....and I usually hunt in a group of 3 or 4 in which I direct traffic anyway........so to me this is a great fit.

I am not going to come on here begging for ways to quickly rush thru SL......rather, I would like to know ways of being an EFFECTIVE SL. Where and when am I going to do the most good? How can I set myself up for success for my group? What are some great hunting grounds for a low, mid and high lvl SL......besides the Tusken fort....which is mentioned in every post for easy XP.

I love being a team player....but since I have mastered WS.....I am not the Uber killer that some of my comrades, nor do I want to be. I DO however, want to be as helpful as possible. Can anyone give me good pointers on what types of missions are good bang for the buck for about 4 of us (non-ch pets not included).

Thanks for keepin' the flames to a minimum!

Darwin's Theory of Evolution is the widely held notion that all life is related and has descended from a common ancestor: the birds and the bananas, the fishes and the flowers -- all related. Darwin's general theory presumes the development of life from non-life and stresses a purely naturalistic (undirected) "descent with modification". That is, complex creatures evolve from more simplistic ancestors naturally over time. In a nutshell, as random genetic mutations occur within an organism's genetic code, the beneficial mutations are preserved because they aid survival -- a process known as "natural selection.".................. If natural selection is true......can anyone explain some of the people on these boards? Snarfbinky

I failed to mention the skills of my group:

Master Combat Medic/Novice Creature Handler

Novice Pistoleer

Novice Commando

Novice Pistoleer/Novice Squad Leader (Guess who!)

We also take out a Master TKA on occasion....any help is appreciated.

Also....which tree would be the best to attack first, or should I advance evenly?

You sound like a natural leader to me... ^_^

Anything thats related to SL as far as skills won't play much into your tactics or strategies. The best way to be effective is to know your group and their skills (which it sounds like you already do), and to know your enemies. Different tactics for different combat styles... PvE is pretty simple, just direct the squad to their targets. PvP goes prettyfast so you will have to make quick decisions and watch your team in relation to who needs heals, rezes, support, etc...

The only skills you might use are /steadyaim to help out your commandos or /formup to get rid of those pesky status effects.

I agree with Irott. You really arent' going to gain anything in the profession that you don't already have/do. The /sysgroup messages can help direct people if you aren't used to keeping an eye on group chat. As far as tree go, the /formup and /steadyaim commands work, sort of, other than that just pick the title you like best. Personally I went with mobility tree just to get the Field Commander title.

My advice would be to back off from fighting too much and try to keep the big picture. Direct your team to the targets and then keeps your eyes on the radar and surroudning areas for new threats that could appear while the group is focused on their current target.

When I play, I keep an eye on my groups HAM bars, try to warning shot any aggro mobs that arent' the current target and if there are multiple targets, direct people to help one another out if someone is getting their butts kicked. My contribution to the actual combat is usually to just let my weapon run without hitting any specials or focusing on the target.

I have found one of the more usefull /sys messages is when we are running between waypoints and one member of the group gets aggro'd. I can select that person and quickly tell the group "%TT has been attacked, everyone /assist %TT".

Since it appears you have a good playstyle already established, SL should only enhance that, you shouldn't need to actually change anything you are doing.

Hope this helps a bit.
