Squad Leader Archive
Thread: Tips for a friend :)
A friend of mine just received novice squad leader... he plays MAAAAYBE 5-10 hours a week. So he is no-powergamer.
Also he was interested in SL when he started playing. Just the other day he was a leader of a group that was more than 3 people. There was 20! And oh was he excited to see the XP. My question is, is there a certain tree to go up that would make him more valuable? From what i have read (just briefly) the skills really dont do all that much. In that case, I would not make any recommendations to him except to have fun and lvl as he sees fit.
Thanks for any help ![]()
awesome, thanks for the quick reply. Anyone else have advice?

If he is grouped with any riflemen/TKA/Commandos ever, he needs to get /rally. They will all love him. What rally does is it gives a bonus to accuracy. Very helpful for those low accuracy skills...
also remember that all those affected by /rally won't be able to harvest. heal or make camps for about 20secs
or sit down, or rez, or... ![]()
My favorite quote is "Crap, he used rally again!" Granted that usually comes out of pistoleers/BH type people.
/rally combined with /steadyaim is good nwes for commandos. I don't know about TKAs, but Riflemen got more accurate recently. We should never miss, and counter that will slower shots, but I'm not a DEV, obviously. (or am I?)
If I were your friend, I would first get /formup, then /steadyaim, then /rally, then anything, as those are the only ones that are worth anything, even if it is just Jack.
Personally, /steadyaim is my favorite. It doesn't do much, but it never fails. Whenever I have the HAM to spair I use it.
