I'm planning on going Squad Leader, currently it needs Exploration and Survival from Scout in addition to the 4th column of Marksman for the combat XP.
I've been reading the posts above and have seen that the Survival column from scout is still required.
From people's experiences of the test server does it look like both exploration and survival are going to be required?

From the latest CU Info, Squad Leader requirements are:
- Marksman Ranged Support Tree (4 boxes) and
- Scout Survival Tree (4 boxes)
Note: Scout Exploration Tree (4 boxes) will no longer be required.

Ideally the xp would be a return to something that derives from our grouping abilities. I like the idea that we get the sum of the combat XP for the group to count as SL XP. With groups limited that slows our progression, and you don't have the crazy modifiers like on live now so it really takes a while to advance. Further with groups weighing the addedbenefit of 1 more member everytime it would limit more.
Regardless I think the days of 4 hourmastery is gone.

You misunderstand. The 4 hour grind is becoming the old SL xp formula. The old old SL xp formula? I leveled under it. I'd rather have it than the 4 hour grind formula. There was the in between old old and old formula that was a nightmare of tiny xp amounts, but that was only around a couple weeks.

And it will be another mighty blow when the concept (not the speed of getting) of SL xp is lost.

Iwas going to start a new thread on this butIwill put it here for now.
No one has talked aboutus non-combat SL the most common ones being SL/CM and SL/Doc, if the current idea goes through then there will be pointless grinding of pistol, and if the Combat xp idea is used it does not solve the problem of us healing SL getting master SL. I think SL should be kept and capped then all types of SL can be made.

DiLune you think people still remember that formula.? OMG it was aweful ask liaky he knows. as i am sure some of the old time SLs do. It was a serious blow to us when they made MSL a 4 hour grind.

I think Squad Leader should level up with Squad Leader Exp. Don't talk about pistol exp, generic weapon exp or combat exp, this is Squad Leader. You should encourage people group up and fight together. People who wants to become a Squad Leader, should be active finding players to group up together. Limit Squad Leader to any weapon exp are missing the point of been a Squad Leader.
I understand that the old SL exp calculation is too high. But right now the group size has decrease, it should be fine now. Let's take an example.
Old SL Exp:
Combat Exp x Number of people in the group = Old SL Exp.
400 (cap) x20= 8000
8000 per kill is too high.

Yes we need SL xp back!!! just modify the formula man... and then change the FS conversion rate to reflect it...
