on my server if you arent standing and moving you are dead..no ifs ands or buts.

As a ranged combatant if you let any of th emelee get close enought o you to attack...then being prone or kneeling an instant corpse.

Lol i honestly am amazed at anyone sayinf they crawl in PvP...if you come to bloodfin and try to pull that youll be dead in 5 seconds flat.....and ill put 20million credits down on it.

I havent been an SL for very long, but I am a team commander in the army and I can say with great certainty that a squad leader should first and foremost be filling the role of option number 3. Thats his job as the section leader. That said, it is the job of over member of the team to build trenches and fortifications under the leaders supervision. For the purpose of this game the SL as part of his section commander role should have the option to oder his team to dig in and fortify themselves giving great defensive bonuses.

This would be especially useful for base raids. When turrets are manned they do insane amount of damage and they can litteraly destroy an entire opposing force is there are any defenders present at all.

What I have been doing is placing down houses withing the turrets firing range so that we have a means of cover from those damn things. Then I have my rifleman pop out from under cover take some shots at the turret and come back to heal from almost being killed and a new set of rifleman pops out and we lay down continuous fire on the turret. I have some other ranged attackers there to guard against flanking ranged offenders and the mele people are standing guard in case the enemy's mele guys rush the house and try to crush our plans.

This works very well, however, I should not have to place a damn house down to do this, I should be able to place a bonified game approaved something or other for this purpose, that would be loads of fun and make lots of sence.

ANd as for NPC handler, thats just gay and silly, were here to command troops, not binary codes.

lmao that last bit was great

i am happy to have a little more support from an actual soldier commenting that forts would indeed have a tactical use.

As I have said.....they shouldnt take up whole branches and tons of space.....and it shouldnt be soemthing that ONLY a squad leader can do.....but ratehr soemthing an SL helps with or does jointly with soemone else (basically you need an SL to complete it). They are to accentuate and add to our flexibility and tactical options.

Yep I think this game needs to focus on forcing more teamplay in pvp instead of giving all the benefits to the mele temploiter stacker I wanna be a hero types. By having a series of professions working together to build something positive and a squad leader at the center of it doing his command and control role, there would be more emphasis on tactics and brain power, as opposed to how much defence one can stack and how high his buffs/double buff vercupti are as well as the strengh of his composite.

Adding bunkers or something of the like will bring a bit more relevance to ranged professions and teamwork. Give people something else to destroy other then just faction bases that suck the energy out of you while your grinding the faction to buy one. You can even have entrenchments placed strategicly around a player city with troops inside it to deny the enemy a line of approach, throw a few turrets nearby and you have a real fun fight on your hands.

Hey man, good to see you on the SL forums now Thelar. You should use your jedi mind trick on the devs to make this SL revamp happen sooner lol.
