Thread: My fear for the madelorian armor cert

My Concerns,

What purpose does bringing the Mandalorian Armor Cert to the Elite profession of Ranger and Hybrid profession of Scout Leader? These two professions, neither of which is a novice profession, have nearly no combat ability in and of themselves. Do this mean that Mandalorian armor is to become fashionable "Dreg" wear or will the Ranger and Scout professions be "uplifted" prior to the armors implementation?

My biggest fear is that, as a Mon Calamari,I will look like a power dork in my shiny new Mandalorian armor. And that I won't be able to wear the helmet or gloves.

What is the point to add a whole dungeon just for 4 professions? At this point at nice adventure dungeon that everyone including the entertainer and crafters can do is in order. Maybe something that takes place over a couple of days and has a different difficulty and rewards for each profession.

Harder NPC's does not equal more fun.

I think you should earn the Certification. The last room in the dungeon should be a Cert room. If you walk out of there still alive then you get Certed to wear the armor. Now I think that would be fun. At least you would earn it.

thay sould make the cert for master squad leader or 1 line only

Wearing Mandalorian Armor will require Master levels of the respective professions that are allowed to wear it.

There is no way to contain it really. All the uber munchkins will tool around in them for a while if the stats are good. If you actually RP and/or try to "play" the game through maintaining a character, chances are you will never own one save for ebay. Hate to be pessimistic but it has been the case so far on every dungeon the devs have seen fit to bring out. I was hoping for more story arcs honestly. Well at any rate, I suspect commando to be abused a lot in this fashion due to so many of the uber munchkins toting around TKM combos commando would probably be the easiest on skill points. SL due to its ease of achievement.

Before the cert for mandalorian is even an issue. The BH armor needs to be addressed.

This is the armor, looted from NPCs, that is used to craft the mandalorian armor. Its has resists in everything except Stun Heat and Acid. Average resists are 30% and have been found as high as 90%. This armor has super low encumbrance which makes it rival to a good set of basic composite.

Currently this is an easy loot on TC. It takes some searching to find the mobs that drop it.. but once you find a spawn you have a good chance of looting this armor. There is no cert for this armor atm, and the new weapons (schematics)looted in the DWB are uncerted as well. Since no one has been able to craft a Mandalorian suit yet on TC we are unable to test how the BH armor's resists transfer over. Im not sure how a 90% resist BH armor piece will become more effective if it is turned into Mandalorian.

Just something to think about....

HI I am back

So this has become a patetic whining of why should SL and rangers get a certification for spending over 100 skill points to become master without getting a single bit of fighting power. why not just give BH and COmmandos the abilites to use all weapons I mean why should Carbineers only get to use elite carbines Bh use them too that have a tree devoted to it!!! Hell comandos use weapons so highly complicated I am sure the simple slug thrower is a child safe gun compaired to a Acid riffle. Lets not forget that artisains can make almost every weapon in game They should Know how to use them lets give them All weapon certifications too!!!

well there thats what all you people sound like lets be realistic SL, ranger BH and commandos should have a way of distinguishing their looks from everyone. is this the bestway to do this..... maybe not but its a start to develop specific elements that only some ppl can use. shut up stop your whinning if ya don't like try not posting it under the SL profession. My fear that this armor will cause people to take this out of proportion and try to take away good ideas instead of using these good ideas and suggest sepcific armor for there profession I mean if your a combat medic riffleman maybe you should ask for medic specific armor and not cry nerf for something thats nearly impossible to get anyway. (lets look outside of the nerf and take away box and try to improve in ways that expand insteaad of limit) just a suggestion all

I'm not sweating a huge influx of Mandalorian wearing SL. For one thing, it won't be all that common. For another, the devs will be changing the SL xp system as well as revamping the profession. So, while you can pick it up easy right now...not so easy in the future.

Make mandalorian a general armor and no one complains. Give it an armor cert and everyone will complain that their favorite profession isn't the only one that gets to wear it. Such is life.

That reminds me: Are there any Master Squad Leader/Master Pistoleers out there? How's that wokring for you? I'm wondering if it would be worth it to drop Carbineer in favor of Pistoleer 'cuz the idea of a dual-wielding, Mandalorian-wearing Squid is almost too tempting to pass up.
