It really depends on your preference and style of play. If you find yourself doing quests or combat alone at times, it is best to get a combat profession with it. I always choose Bounty Hunter, because I prefer having any kind of weapon at my disposal, and I can hunt jedi However, if you go combat, it's best to pick your preference. The current popular one is Rifleman, and since you can now Rally while prone, it makes the profession much more viable.

If you never think you will be without a group, get doctor. People like to have an SL with them, but most that I know would take a Doc more than an SL. If there are groups to be joined, SL/Doc shouldn't have any problem.

Im a Master SL/Master Rifle/Pistol (for the root) and in FS skills: ranged accy, ranged speed, ranged def, melee def, and luck (vehicle control doesnt appeal to me... lol)

I really really like this combination and like that Im good solo or in a group
