Thread: Politician? Elite-Elite Squad Leader?
I still think the politician will probably use a skill line from the artisan profession and a skill line from the entertainer profession. Business 4 would make sense.
If it were going to be ELite-Elite off anything, it would be Merchant. The Bourgoise and all that.
However, it won't be an Elite-Elite profession, or they'd have called it that along with City Planner, which they specifically introduced as the first Elite-Elite profession. That being the case, I maintain my original statement that it will be an Artisan/Entertainer Hybrid profession.
Is there any reason a Politician couldn't come from Business 4, and SL?
"No one said you would have to become a Politician if you're alreadya Squad Leader."
Unless of course I wanted to be a Politician.
people made the mistake of thinking a warrior could be a politician with a few of our past presidents. and around the world people who ruled with battle in mind were usually dictators. I think an SL that turned politician would become Novice Suddam
A politician is a great bargainer, entertainer, and even a deciever. And usually he bends to the will of the credit.
We have to keep in mind that this is Star Wars and not 21st century earth. Politicians in SWG should be more like Grand Moff Tarkin.
Let's take a look at some American presidents and their previous professions, SWG style (the closest approximations possible):
George Washington: Surveyor/Squad Leader
Andrew Jackson: Squad Leader
Zachary Taylor: Surveyor/Squad Leader
Andrew Johnson: Tailor
Ulysses S. Grant: Squad Leader
Teddy Roosevelt: Ranger/Squad Leader
Warren G. Harding: Musician
Herbert Hoover: Engineer
Harry Truman: Surveyor/Squad Leader
Dwight Eisenhower: Squad Leader
Lyndon B. Johnson: Squad Leader
Gerald Ford: Squad Leader
Ronald Reagan: Entertainer
George Bush: Merchant
George W. Bush: Merchant
Note that I left out professions unrelated to SWG, such as lawyers (which by far most commonly became presidents) and teachers/professors. As you can see, during times of war many of those who were once in service (as leaders of men)later became politicians, such as the period after World War II. A Star Wars analogy could be seen as many former leaders in the Clone Wars, former Republic generals, and the like, probably rose to power quickly with the new order. This list was made without any real historical analysis, just a perusal of several biographies, so it likely contains some blatant inaccuracies. However, I tried my best. : )
Do you guys actually want Master SL to be a prerequisite to politician or do you just think that it makes sense?
