that whole post sounded like BS.

especially the cut the exp in half thing. its like 5mil to master as it is now and you only get what a couple hundred unless you are in a large group? they did this to slow down the holo-grinding leaders not us who have been SL since well before this.

also it sounds like we arent going to get anything in way of new abilities/mods or ones that actually work or are useful.

the whole post sounded like a politician lying to you.

did it not?

I am aware of the fact that... it is possible that we will get a major overhaul but. I just wanted to know if anyone else noted the avoidence of the failure rates in the stated fix for ham costs (and well i thought) failure rates. Maybe i missread but i missed a reading about any fix for our failure rates.

Before you get all mad at me and tell me to go back to scool and read remember its now Christmas Vacation YAY and my brain is going to rot weather you like it or not. Seriously i am very happy with the proposed changes in the response (besides what worries me) and i am very happy that we have finnaly gotten a response.

Thank You so much Thulium and TH for your time effort and i will continue to stand by and interject ideas when they come to me.

You read it right. Failure rates were not mentioned and HAM costs were downplayed, although it is possible that the new system could help out with those somewhat.

i dont think i liek the answer to #1 very well.

The HAM costs for Squad Leader commands are extremely high...id have to say the highest of any proffession (except perhaps a efw pikeman moves).

EVEN WITH enhanced HAM regen, it hamstrings us (no pun intended) with having such an extraordinary cost. If I cast 2 SL abilities for a total of 500 mind (as OFTEN happens, especially when im in armor) that is more than HALF of my entire mind pool.... two-thirds in fact. I do not care HOW fast the HAM regeneration is, having HAM costs that debilitating can have us incapped in 2 seconds.

Case in point, durign a recent PvP attack I used 2 SL abilities which depleted my mind pool by 480 some points, that is literally half of my mind. I got poisoned, and in 2 ticks of the poison and a blaster shot i was on the ground.....it had not even been 15 seconds into the fight.

No sir, the HAm costs MUST be reduced by an appreciable amount if Squad Leaders are truly going to be abel to be effective. I cant say anything els eon it...it simply must be reduced, extra regen or not.

On the holo grinders: the sooner they get there, the sooner they can leave (master SL that is).

speakign as a master SL i will be happy to see the XP gaisn reduced.

i had SL the first month of game play it took me until October to master it (soemwhat because I didnt lead a lto of big group hunts early on).

now ppl have literally powergamed and mastered SL in 2 days for holo's.

no one should be able to master this proff in 2 days......thats ridiculous and trivializes the whole profession

Failure rates and things like that come in two categories. If its small, Thul and I can get it worked on. If its big, its coming in the revamp and the Combat Balance. What I really hope to see from you folks is your ideas on how to make SL's fun and unique.

If you work together and get those ideas to Thul, he can send them to me directly and I can both catalogue them and get them involved in the process. Sure, it takes time, but Im not going anywhere and Im always going to listen to your input and act on what I can.

TH, I haven't played as a SL, but I thin the key to making that profession enjoyable would be to make it a positive to have one. A group of 5 with a SL, should always beat a group of 5 without one (with all skills and possible tatics being equal)

I am a little worried because the answers they gave squadleaders are a little bit less specific than the ones they gave most other professions (who got very detailed answers and timelines).

Im so psyched that they are seriously considering role designation. hell, they even kept the term I think I coined for it. Nifty.

Okay, popped a Holocron and got squad leader. I was really excited about it because I was going to go squad leader anyway because it seemed neat to me. I haven't started SL yet I have to finish camping XP (they really need to reduce the amount of XP for that, but that's a discussion for a different board). I tell you all this so everyone will know where I'm coming from:

The way I see things everyone is crying and complaining about what was said or wasn't said in the response and everyone seems to be focused on that. Did everyone miss the part where the developer said to put our heads together and tell them what we want to see? Quit crying, andworrying about what hasn't happened yet and start being constructive. Nothing is set in stone yet and we have the opportunity to have a say in the direction of this profession.

First off, we're not crying, stop the negativity. secondly, Don't read one complaint thread and start giving opinions. there are plenty of constructive ideas from this community. read some of them before you come in here and flame posters of the SL community. Read, and be less ignorant.

I think the Squad Leader forum is the most constructive out of all the professions.
