How about the APC from Aliens? That rocked, had only one turret. You could have it similar to the advanced ranger camps, with medical and weapon crafting stations inside. Would be pretty sweet.
Let's see:
- Style +10 Points
- Coolness +10 Points
- StarWarsy-ness -20 Points
Am I the only one willing to point out:
AT-AT=All Terrain Armored Transport
Maybe this is just because I am an Imperial SL, but...
And hey, it can hold 40 troopers, or two AT-STs. I dont care about cramming my AT-ST into it, but 40 troopers? Least you could do is let us cram in 8 people.

Imagine the lag driving one of those through Theed with 40 people in it.

Food for thought:
What if,
Your a MSL you got a tank finally but theres some rules behind it and how it works. lets pretend here a moment and envision this scenerio...
Tank XXX mark 3
crew 3
Professions required, MSL, MCommando, Artisan engineering IV
The MSL would be the eyes and the ears of the tank crew, directing fire where need be, giving the driver locs to arrive at etc...
Master Commando is your gunner, now he cant see a thing but he has the Turret menu display up much like the faction base turrets.
The Artisan engineer is your driver and repair guy.
the tank has a 300k ham like turrets, there would be a -90% penalty for shooting a soft (player/NPC) target. and a 0 penalty for hitting a hard (turret/vehical) target.
Heres how it all works.
MSL"driver move to location 400,30,300 and hold, gunner target ATST and stand by till i get reports from our scouts"
Commando takes his target via the turret menu and holds on the fire button waiting. The MSL gets his reports as ground forces engage troops to keep it off the tank. MSL orders the fire to begin and the gunner hits the fire button, and the shelling ensues....
Now the tank can be damaged by players but count it as a turret, its gonna take a LOT of focused fire to nuke that tank, its gonna have a hard time shooting back at a player but its not designed for killing softies its a base buster support vehical. Make it so that all units who are part of the vehical must be special forces to use it. each person can only man a station they are qualified to run. Also make the tank like the BARC non disposable. give repair kits to the engineer/driver, however to repair he must exit the tank and repair it on foot...
edit oops forgot to add the tank must be stationary to fire its main gun..
interesting huh. play with the idea and see what you think
this beyond the graphis issue would be VERY easy to add to the game based on existing data in the system thats being currently used

I disagree on this - it's too much complication for the players in terms of who can do what, when, and where.
I agree that the turret structure that already exists should be used, but it should only have soft target weapons - like a humvee. In fact hell, there you go. Make us a humvee. But the squad leader is the only one who can drive, as they are the only ones who can have it in their datapad.
Along similar line you could have a tank-type vehicle, except give it to the commandos.
