Thread: Date for Squad Leader Revamp

Squad Leader will get some changes in the combat upgrade and we are supposed to get a revamp directly (mini publish) afterwards. Rangers are in need of a revamp but the devs never stated when they would be.

As of right now, the ranger professions is working. What else could you do to enhance it anyway? The only thing comes to mind is more useless tents or the ablity to harvest more

I'm not a squad leader, nor have I ever been one, prob never will be, i'm still trying to figure out how I'm going to sqeeze commando,rifleman,scout,smuggler,and medic into one template.



But for the love of all things Holy, how can a COMBAT LEADER not be included in the main CU? SL is, or should be an intergral part of combat. How can you balance proffesions, and NOT take into account the benifits of a MSL? That's how we got into this whole mess anyway, not looking at the big picture and how every part drastically changes the whole.


The cynical part of me says that its because a MSL primarily beinifits ranged players, and that is why squad leaders are not included in the main CU. Someone either please put me out of my misery, or tell me I'm wrong.

You may not want to be those professions anymore after the CU...

Squad Leaders are included in the CU, but our revamp is afterwards. What does this mean? Simple. All the extra stuff... the bells and whistles are being put in during the revamp. Its just the same as smugglers. They are getting work done in the CU but they are getting a revamp afterwards to add even more to them.

Things are changing so much you will not recognize combat afterwards. Everything will make sense.

Why can't we support Ranged and Melee at the same time. SL doesn't have to be just ranged

Woot Irott! Way to keep up on top of things. Your responses make me so excited for CU! One of the best things the Devs ever did was put Player Correspondents as liaisons. Makes me think that if this CU can impess even you guys, then maybe we really will finally have a game we're really proud of!

Rangers are pretty much scouts that can harvest more, they need a lot more depth to them. Also they need to get some more combat mods that would be useful in a group. I used to be a ranger/SL but eventually dropped it since it wasn't really benefitting me at all.

WOW! I hope Irott is right and combat does change drastically. I am looking forward to some ne action, we have been building our guild up and trying to be competetive in PvP, but it is hard to compete with the large imp guilds with dot's. I am not trying to wine like it sounds, I just want to see it be more balanced and more exciting and last a lot longer. Most importantly I want to see the Squad Leader have a more important role or atleast be able to aid out the group a lot more in whatever type of fighting may be going on. I think it is beneficial to have either type of combat ranged or melee. There is good reasons for both of them and they can aid out their group in different ways for each of them that benefit the group differently but both can be effective. So be what you want to be and be the best to your group. /salute

I don't know exactly what you mean by this. Squad Leaders benefit both Melee and Ranged profs equally. Sure, Steady Aim and Volley Fire are geared towards ranged profs, but Terrain Negotiation is definetely a higher priority for Melee profs than it is for Ranged profs. And Retreat, Form Up, and the melee/ranged defense bonuses are equally beneficial for both in my opinion.


What's lacking for Melee that you see that should be added?
