that would be very interesting indeed. That would feel like kind of like at RTS game, overheadveiw commandingyour "units"
. Very cool idea. Be an SL and always battle in that mode

I do in some ways like Sylow's idea....one fore seeable problem. Everyone wants to be "uber" in this game it seems. Hence the billions of jedi. And if we were given a power like that, we would become without a doubt FOTM. And I personally enjoy the thought of SL how we are now. Only those that have the actual urge to be an SL are an SL. And even then that is slowly drifting away, as I know there are now SL bots for jedi solo groups. I myself have been an SL in PvE, and been an SL in PvP. And from my experiences if you have your MSL tag on, you have about a 95% chance of being target numero uno on the enemies hit list in PvP and are the one most defended in PvE. But I think as to what i believe blackferne was after, was to point out, we can't have SL one way, we have to find a balance. This game has serious balance issues at the moment. And not just amoungst the normies vs the jedi, even amoungst the normal combat proffs there are huge imbalances. And I know, I have been a pistoleer, carbineer, and a rifleman. I stuck with rifleman because I like to stay back in a fight, and it has the best mod at the further range. At the time I was a squad leader(just now got back to it, dropped it for awhile to try out some melee classes). But yeah....I forgot what I was going to get at......so yeah.......its early morning, and i just got it......

I think these sides exist with everyone. For some, it is just a template with skills to better the group. No leadership required.
However, the good Squad Leaders, as I think with every other profession, believe in themselves with this profession and work hard to better themselves in it.
Bounty Hunters, Doctors, Entertainers, Teras Kasi, and rarely jedi (
) can be just templates. Some people, howwever, take their role in the profession they choose to be unique and different and are better because of that. As a Bounty Hunter now, I know that it isn't just a template. I live to kill the jedi threat, and being a Bounty Hunter means so much more to me than just the skills. The same as when I was a Squad Leader. I think those who believe their profession(s) are special and really want to be them will always be better than those that just want the skills for their skill points.
Squad Leaders just happen to be more unique than the rest. Cmon. If you see a Master Squad Leader around, it implies respect. Master Bounty Hunter only inspires fear and hatred

Ub3r it is not. But by far are we not useless. I may not be able to solo everything in the galaxy or even win many duels but I'm there when you need me and have every desire to get you out alive.
/salute
Anyone who doesn't want a SL now in their group now is an idiot. And based on what Irott has been saying the future is looking much much brighter ![]()

I read the first half of this thread and would like to post my opinion on Squad Leader.
It was the first profession I ever mastered and the longest I ever kept. I went to Doc later and after a while I tried to be a stacker (Rifleman/TKM), but it's just not me. During my whole Doc/stacker phase I always complained about loosing SL and how much I loved it. Now I've finally come back to it after a 4 month leave.

I see myself as the ultimate support and the ultimate sacrafice. My guild likes having me call the shots (even though I am a new and low ranking officer). I'll lead them anywhere and they'll follow. In battle I stand in the back adding my extra mind damage where it's needed and watching the battle, directing people where to go and what to do. When and if it comes down to it I call a retreat and get them out of there fast while I charge into the fight. Although I see fit that I go down in a blaze of glory to save my commrads they don't and always my Combat Medic stands beside me (or even tanks for me, lol) and we take out what we can.
The future of Squad Leader? There is such a potential to it. Squad Leader, in my opinion, should stay a rare profession and become more strategic.

Remember those who are too Uber to group with you. When the day comes that they desire your leadership, remind them that they are too Uber to be grouped with a lowly SL.
