Thread: Two Easy Upgrades for the Squad Leader Profession
Also the ideas of a Squad Bunker have gone something like this:
Nov SL: gets a small fortification similar to sand bags. A square or circle of bags that form a defensive structure. This small bunker would give slight bonus's to melee defense and accuracy.
First Tier SL: The bunker is larger now and has trenches as well as the sand bag barrier. Melee Defense and Accuracy are improved as well as a small ranged defense bonus.
Master SL: The Bunker is a full fledged defense structure with walls (and maybe some static weapons mounted on turrets?) The bonuses for melee and ranged defense are increased again in addition to a healthy increase in accuracy.
The Bunkers would NOT have any heal modifiers so they wouldn't conflict with ranger camps.
I noticed something in a few older threads about a SL bunker and wanted to make sure one point was very clear. The idea of a Squad Bunker has been said to have been dismissed out of hand by the devs on the grounds that it would conflict with the ranger camps.
This would simply not be true if the model of a combat bunker were used.
EX: SL Bunker = Combat Mods
Ranger Camp = Heal Mods and Crafting Stations.....
Someone fill me in here... how , exactly is that the same thing???
you right its not the same thing, the bunker idea does not conflict with anything that rangers currently have, however, many rangers have been arguing that if we get bunkers it would take away a posible future addition to rangers. i do not agree with this at all but it is what the rangers are thinking.they are going to get hunting blind in the future but the DEVs description is a bit vague so i dont really know what its going to do but its supposed to help with hunting.
probably what we should do is push for a bunker/Fortification type that is directed toward PvP over PvE. if bunkers have weak deffences agenst kenetic damage and strong defenses agenst all other types of damage and the hinting blind was exactly the opposit then there wont be a conflict.
this is just an idea, just remember. we have to come up with an idea that ranger will not be threatined by. there are more of them then us so we arent willing to comprimize with them we may never get anything like the bunker idea added in

Are you broken? Why would you want to kill the members of your squad and have them mad at you and ruin the reputation of SLs everywhere?
Pride comes before the fall. Read some Sun Tzu to get a better idea of what you should be doing with you skills.
Besides, retreat had offensive capabilities, also. Use your imagination.
Anyways, I've always beena a supporter of the Bunker idea. It's the best single fix to this class I have seen. It interfiers in no way with ranger camps, so they have no room to complain.
As for the whole "bust out more troopers as an SL" idea, it needs ammending. How about,
1st tier Sl: 2 troopers, 3rd tier: three troopers, master: four troopers. Of course this is not including AT-STs.
