LOL. Constant Dev love eh?

1st - only flamethrower worked but did less damage than a cdef pistol

2nd - lp finally worked but no skills with it

3rd - flamethrower finally easily made and does comparable damage to other master combat classes

4th - flamethrower given rifleman melee penalty so one hit from white con will kill you regardless of full buffs and 61% kinetic armor. So impossible to use the flamethrower special as you will be in melee range

still broken is the HAR.

Consumable are hellaciously expensive and have 35 charges or less.

Grenades are just a plain joke.

Master Commando is no better than Flame 4.

At least you can master swordsman/fencer/pikemen/chef/DE ... Don't get me wrong. All those profession need much love..but at least you can level up in them.

I never said SL wasn't the most broken class. It is. I mean, does anything in the entire class work?

The latest SL xp nerf baffles me. I seriously question the intent of the designers.

At least you used to be able to master SL if you wanted to in the hopes the class got fixed. Now it's just depressing.

Only thing Commando's got was a weapon damage revamp and ability to use them.

Then were nerfed to be unable to use the flamethrower special without dying.

I've never understood the rifleman penalty. Doesn't make any sense at all to me.

Shrug.

I can make some guesswork on the rifleman thing - I expect it is to either a) offset the fact that riflemen do mind damage, or b) to make the pistolier stand out from the rifleman.


Sure, attacking someone at close quarters with a pistol is easy, but defending - well, a rifle makes a much better baseball bat.


Anyway, I digress - these aren't matters for squad leaders...


I think the situation was summed up when I revealed the nerf to my PA mates:


Me: OMG! Squad leader has been nerfed!


Them: How can you nerf something as bad assquad leader?



They found a way...

From what I hear, Commandos got Devs to look at many of their issues, including flamethrowers and lp. Shure the devs botched it a bit, but they will be back. The only thing that the devs have "fixed" over here is the xp system, and they raped us with it. Other than that, they proposed some theoretical changes that we never heard about again.


And babe, don't start about the 2.5x dmg on the flamethrower. Like I said, I'm a rifleman also. With warping critters (we like to call that "going ninja") we are so gimped it ceases to be funny. You can't use that as an example of how devs "hate" you, because they obviously have boned another class over much more so with the same problem.


Consumeables are hellaciously expensive? At least you have something to buy. We have nothing in this class. No working abilities, and our passives are so weak as to be negligable. Be grateful you have something to spend your money on.


Grenades = funny? Try failing /rally four times in a row, then shooting off a master headshot and missing that. Then watch the meatlump breath on you and observe the 90 sec incompacitation. Hilarious.


Master commando is no better than flame 4, hu? Well get this: Besides a couple weak passives, master Sl is no better than novice SL. We have only our wits and /sysgroup to make us strong players.



I never said that SL was the only broken class, I said it was the most broken class. Prove me wrong, please. If you can it might make me feal better, though that is hardly the attitude I like to take; feeling better because someone is less well off. Though I do enjoy the thought of giving those that whined in ignorance something to really **edit** about.

I understand that CM was borked, and that carabineer isn't quite where it should be, but ya can't hold a candle to the `ol rifleman/Sl combo.


Both specials use mind, both specials fail/miss more often than not, devs don't give a hoot in hell about either.

Ima master rifleman new novice squad leader.


If everything worked right, the role would be perfect. Ranged support, etc.
