This tree has been made obsolete by mounts and vehicles. It was of questionable value anyway since so many players already recieve the terrain nav bonuses of scouting or CM. It should be redeveloped.

People seem to like this tree simply because it works, but as time goes on, this tree becomes less and less important. Increased terrain negotiation only helps significantly in traversing terrain from mission to mission. No one cares about this when everyone has mounts, and soon will all have vehicles. While I think this ability should still be represented, I believe itd work better as a single box that gives +25 terrain negotiation and +25 burst run efficiency. With combat medics already having terrain negotiation bonuses, and mounts/vehicles in game, this is just a wasted tree most people dont want to waste skill points on.

im not even sure i liek mobility right now.


Why? Because none of my groups can verify they really move much faster with it. Maybe its a matter of perception. In any case i outdistance my group members 1m for every 2 or 3 strides i take. Even BH's (who you can be 100% assured of have the full explore tree) fall behind me at a noticeable pace. If mobility was working as intended then anyone with all of explore should be moving as fast as I am over terrain....and currently i do not see that happening.


you could say it is becaus eof tree's and stuff......but im talking about Tatooine even, with wide open deserts.



Id have them check into mobility nad assure us it is working properly....just to be safe. If they are goign to fix us then they may as well take soem extra tiem to check everything over. Liek going to an oil change, most peopel usually have them check over other important parts of the car while they are there.


I wouldnt mind seeing an extra +25 to each box though....have +100 instead of +50. It would make Squad Leaders worth having around for combat. Heres my thinking:


as it stands now, Mounts are out, and vehicles will be coming out. No one cares about terrain negotiation for movement from place-to-place anymore. What we DO care about now is movement in combat. Make the bonuses higher so that it actually means soemthing. A group led by a Squad Leader will DEFINATELY be able to outrun enemy players if the group decides to fall back.As it is now you really cant say that mobility saves many people when they try to get out of combat. Thats what it should be good for...movement in and out of combat.



I also would not mind seeing soem FORMATIONS put into the mobility tree. Column for advanced speed. Skirmish for advanced defense with no loss of mobility. Line formation for added offensive capability. Double line for extra defense in front rank, offense in back rank. Last Stand- 30 seconds of increased defense and offense MODs to everyone ( a significant increase) but you cant move.

Yeah I'd really like to see formations added for group movement. Both mounted/vechiled and on foot. I'd really help to make sure no one falls behind and the group stays together. Giving bonuses based on the type of formation would be a added bonus.

Mobility II:/medevac TK933 deploys his Landing Zone marking kit. He uses his comms kit and summons a shuttle. He then targets the corpse of a player and sends him to the nearest NPC hospital with no wounds and no item decay.


"Dustoff Command this is TK933, request Medevac, one patient, critical condition. LZ amber, enemy presense suspected."


"TK933 this is Dustoff Command launching medical shuttle now. Turn on homing beacon Encryption ZetaLamdaPsi. ETA 5 minutes."


"This is TK933 Roger, out."


Mobility III: /extraction TK933 deploys his Landing Zone marking kit. He uses hiscomms kitand summons a shuttle. When the shuttle arrives he issues the /extraction command transporting him and his group members inthe landing zone to the nearest NPC city shuttle port.


"Gamma Base this is TK933 Mission complete, requesting extraction."


"TK933 this is Gamma Base Send Authentication code."


"This is Gamma Base, authentication received, shuttle enroute, set homing beacon encryption EpsilonSierra, ETA 5 minutes."


"This is TK933 Roger, out."


Mobility IV: /reinforcements TK933 deploys his Landing Zone marking kit. He uses his comms kit and summons a shuttle. When the shuttle arrives he issues the /reinforcements command. Squad members now have 2 minutes to call dead faction pets from their data pad. The dead faction pets loose 25% vitality but are completely healed and no longer dead.


"Gamma Base this is TK933 taking heavy casualties request reinforcements."


"TK933 this is Gamma Base send Authentication"


This is Gamma Base, authentication received, Alpha Squad enroute, set homing beacon encryption AlphaBetaAlpha, ETA 5 minutes."


"This is TK933 Roger Out"

If worse comes to Worse, we've already lost our mobility tree as is.... So remove that tree, and place the bonuses in master SL and Novice SL.... And replace the tree with a Support Weapon line that gives dammage multipliers... two multipliers.... Possibly three... So a Master Squad Leaders groupis capable of 3x the dammage as a non SL group

Vehicles are nice and everything, and a Squad Leader transport, while unlikely, is a cool idea.


But we should have something that makes general movement speed for our groups faster. Not tons faster, just faster. And it should be passive. At Master Squad Leader my group should move a coupla notches faster than a non-SL lead group. It would be awesome for PVP, and it would be great for hunting efficiency.


This is one of those things we should be absolutely howling for, along with actual noticable combat bonuses and defense / toughness stuff.

Those were pretty awesome. Should be fun for them to implement too

With mounts and vehicles, Mobility has lost a lot of its usefulness. I still group with some people that don't have scout and at times we run instead of ride. That is still appreciated. I've heard that the bonuses affect mounts and vehicles too, but if they do then it is negligible. I've timed everything I do, no noticeable difference
Anyway, here are some ideas for updating the Mobility tree:

Formations: Works like auto-follow, but puts the group in a formation so they can move around without bunching into the same place. Can work far apart, so say a rifleman always stays 50m behind his TKA and doesn't have to run to the target and then run back for cover.

Dustoff and extraction points should be like a beacon that the SL places, might have the rules of a structure so they have to place it in an area large enough for the shuttle to land. there would also have to be some rules for landing in cities, then also if thhey can be stopped or shot down by commandos or rancors
Also, maybe to avoid abusing this and becoming a quick-stop shuttle service, the SL has to register at the shuttleport or maybe only have it work with player or faction-aligned cities. That way it has to be planned, and you can't just be in the middle of an 8km long desert and decide you'd rather take a shuttle instead of hoof it.

Another nice thing to work with speeders, a skill that is like a quick dismount and store. You can ride up, or maybe have a waypoint set and it goes to the wp then dismounts and stores your speeder. A fast way for everyone to get in a position to attack?

The Squad Leader even as it stands right now is a young jedi's best friend. The added mobility and melee and ranged defence mods really help a toon that can not ever have those.
