If you guys really want a responce from SOE you have to stop acting like Troll's and be constructive in the way you approch the problem. Bashing SOE is your buissness as one of there customers, even I have gone overboard from time to time out of frustration, but I think they will respond to you better if your polight about it. So stop asking for people's head's and ask for a Dev responce on weather or not any of this will be addressed, at this point I will be happy if I even get the ghosty "combat balance" responce.

So let me get this straight......
I can AFK and macro spatial yelling , that im selling do-dad's right outside the spaceport , with 100 others doing the saame thing ; lagg up the server , lagg up the clients , lagg up anyone logging in or arriving at the spaceport ; make it impossible to have a spatial conversation with anyone , make it impossible to recieve readable tells ; and basiclly slowing down my frame-rate to accomodate a million chat bubbles....
But i can't stand somewhere and yell my SL commands about , cause i might irratate other players passing by ? And thus recieve suspension or banning ?
How about we make that the other-way-around ..
How about forcing AFK advertisers to use the bazaar chat or wotever the new merchant chat tab is called , and leave the SL's alone...
Heck i might need to /formup more then twice in 30 seconds... But i will NEVER NEED TO READ THE AFK MACRO YELLING OF SOME STUPID MERCHANT WHO'S OVER CHARGING ME ANYWAYS >8p

There is really only one logical way to deal with it.
Replace the current hogwash meaningless combat dialogue from SL, and replace it with those informative commercials that enrich Coronet Starport so.

Exactly...
From now on when I use a SL command they will read as follows
/formup (/shouts) Visit my merchant at blah blah corellia
/boostmorale (/shouts) Don't forget to get your PSG's at my merchant on Naboo
etc..
etc..
etc...

Okay, time for some clarification:
I had a very infromative (and long) PM discussion with Garva about this topic. He did not give me exressive permission to püost the conversation, so i won't (unless he shows up in here and grants me the right to do so).
But i can tell you what the outcome was (since it is not personal information).
The question i was curous about was: at what point does the use of SL abilities become a "disruption of gameplay"?
The answer is not as "obvious" as we would like to have it, but to put it in short: as long as you don't do it intentionally or while afk, you will not be punished for it. Not complying with orders from a CSR will get you punished, though, it the circumstances warrant it.
Garva also told me, that the CSR staff is indeed informed about the workings of the SL profession and know about the problems. The seriousness of the issue has been brought to SOEs attention, not only by the players, but the CSR staff as well.
Within the limits of their abilities, the CSRs will do what they can to help a SL in such a situation, but orders have to be followed first, before anything else can be done.
So, things not to do if you do not nat to get suspended or banned are:
-being afk (not only the tag above the head, but also not responding to tells)
-intentionally flooding SL commands to spam text messages across the public channels with the intent to disrupt gameplay for others.
As long as you don't do any of the above, you are perfectly safe.
Now, where i do believe the problem stems from, is not the abilities (wich queue themselves), but the yells associated with them, that do not queue up. Thus, spamming formup 10 times will have the formup ability go into the queue, but will instatly release 10 yells at once, with carry the potential to disrupt gameplay (close to TCP/IP stacking and PoD).
I would encourage everyone to put a .5 second pause into their Macros, to avoid spamming the yells like crazy.
I hope this helped clarify the issue.

TY for the follow up and I do hope that his gets somewhat sorted. It is great to finally get an answer, or somewhat of one.
I do hope that ALL CSR's are properly schooled on this for I have been moved to naboo at 0.0. without ANY /tells but that was a while ago so i will give the CSR's the benfit of the doubt.
As far as the afk tag goes this is GREAT to know because due to no one knowing and CSR's not being consistent I have been slapping my afk tag up with the message that "I am a SL using commands and fighting, I may not respond."
Lastly, I hope that the responding to /tells is somewhat flexible for the sole reason that due to the crazy amount of entries into the combat logs it is very EASY to miss a /tell.

If you're wondering why people complain more about SL spamming than the merchants (or get in more trouble for it, at any rate), it's because the merchants are expected. I've never played an mmorpg without there being one town/building/area where the players would gather to shout messages about things they wanted to buy/sell, and making noise in general. The entire server population is aware that the coronet starport (or some other server-specific place) is where they're going to encounter this, and they expect it/prepare for it. A SL, however, is wandering all over the galaxy shouting in otherwise quiet areas. When you're talking to a friend more than 20km from any city, you expect them to hear you. An SL shouting commands every half-second makes that impossible; I've found very few things more irritating than a squad leader shouting commands so fast that you can't talk to anyone without switching to a spatial-free chat tab (and praying that everyone present has one, too).

Kosso,
The problem isnt in the fact that our profession has shouts to accompany many of our skills, its the fact that players find they need to spam/macro these commands. Once the CB and the SL revamp are underway, I will be working on removing the need to spam these commands and ultimatly a way to remove SL bots from the game. Until then though, players should continue to do what they do. No one has ever been banned/suspended for JUST spamming, there were other variables that got them to that point.
Just remember its the other players who submit these tickets to the CSRs to complain about the spam, the CSRs are just responding to the rest of the playerbase's anoyance (something I want to change, because I don't want anyone to be anoyed from just being around a SL.)
Just keep playing the way you play and try to respect other players.
no irott i disagree with you wholeheartedly on this.
Ive been an SL as long as you have......and thats just BS.
They need to remove the shouts from the commands pure and simple and that will end all the problems of it. There is NO reason whatsoever that an SL should not be able to spam the same as every other profession in the game.
As i have said before the DEVS created this problem THEN never fixed it.....it should have been remedied MONTHS ago i seriously cant figure out why they had to sit on their ass and couldnt fix something as simple as removing the shout from SL commands.....or allowing them to be toggled off

Simply remove the verbal components of the squad leader commands.
Problem solved.
