I am leaving because I disagree with the concept that they have descided to follow. Staying around to see how it works won't change the concept and thus won't change my feelings on the issue. That being said, I don't feel I am jumping ship early, but rather accepting the fates for what they are. If they change the concept to one that is more parallel to what we are currently, I would be back in a heartbeat. I don't see them doing that. It is clear from the dev posts (what few there are...anyone notice how much interaction Rangers are getting vs us?) that they are set on making SL what they have proposed. I am sure its a style for others out there....its just not my style.I am not sure what profession I will go to. Many of my command macros will always remain on my toolbar.
In a way, I feel I will have never left the Squad Leader profession, it's leavingme.
While this is not my profession, i noticed this through my usual rummaging through professions of interest. Let me say that profession concept means nothing. What the developers want the profession roles in the game to be never work the way they say. Do not expect their concept for Squad Leader to be what it actually is. Give it a chance, you may still love it.

I don't mind the concepts that they have right now for SL. It isn't everything we asked for, but I can see where the devs are taking sl. Yes its going to be much like a bard but i've always thought that SL is closely related to the bard anyway. The only thing that bothers me is that this kinda came suddenly, they never posted any of this stuff while it was in concept so we pretty much are stuck with what we got now. I'd rather accept this new version of SL though then wait another 2 years for them to revamp sl again.
Though I am not always the most vocal, I often read your posts. Thanks for your efforts, and good luck with your next profession. Perhaps one day you will decide to rejoin us, either because they amend their revamp or because you miss us (pfft! :-P).

I've been there too, it's hard to just shut the door on SL
Welcome home sir. It's good to have you back.

He speaks much wisdom this one does. The Dev concept and what Players make of the Profession are normally vastly different. How often do you see a Rifleman going prone, taking cover, and sniping away into a battle? Not as often as the Devs thought they would. SL will become what we the players make it using the tools the Devs have given us.

This is exactly the reason why i dislike the concept the way it is set up at the moment. It screams "exploint me" from one end to the other and has no failsave against that installed yet. ![]()
I really hope thatwe can see some changes when it returns to testcenter...
