First let me say, every profession will be getting a revamp regardless if they are currently being revamped in the Combat Upgrade.
But I understand your concerns here Willz... There just isn't a lot of info out there on whats going on. I do, know for a fact though that Squad Leaders are not only affected in the Combat Upgrade, they are damn near at the center of everything thats going on.
Due to NDA limitations, there isnt anything that I can really say. But also keep in mind that an Upgrade to the Combat system is just that... and upgrade to the system. A profession revamp will add in new profession content, features and interfaces. The bells and whistles. So don't be discouraged with notions that nothing good will come out of the CU.
I wish I could just post all the information I know... but I can't. The Combat Upgrade is going to be great for everyone, not just Squad Leaders.

Well don't just whine about him being a TK. What were his other professions. There are alot of TK stackers out there. Its the stacking that kills most carbineers, as you can't get any of the states to stick. And solo, by yourself, um squad leader isnn't gonna do anything for you anyway

I regrinded SL with my jedis alt in hopes of the CU. I just hope SL gets the "drop zone" ability to drop a group of players anywere on the map. If thats the ONLY thing SL can do period i would gladly keep it!

I am very interested to see how Squad leader turns out, i hope its better, because in its current state i don't really want to take it up. It has useful abilites but i think SL in the CU will be used alot since we all will need groups and such, ect.

Squad Leaders will always be lower in numbers then other professions simply because not everyone ones to sacrifice SP to make others better.

Big difference with the abilities in the past of SL they did not generally apply to yourself so the benefit ratio to yourself was low (no burst run addition for you, no heal states no enhanced defences .. Doc had a high self benefit ratio - give self buffs, cure diseases, heal fire dots etc...

Also consider the amount of money a Doc makes (15k/buffset + missions) with the amount a squad leader makes (missions only) and you'll see why Docs are (and most likely will be after CU) more prevalent than SLs.

Also the risk to reward ratio needs to be taken into effect.
Currently... a Doctor has almost no risk at all and gains huge rewards.
Any combat profession has higher risk with very low reward. They do have some really good rewards but those are set on a random factor, while Docs gain their reward on a constant.
The CU is about balancing combat, not the whole game. So economic ratios and all that other stuff will have to be touched on a little later.

Well the point im making is.. why should carbiner be not as effective as a tera kasi? It's not like I am a novice carbiner or squad leader fighting a master Tera Kasi. I am a master Carbiner that doesn't even have a remote chance against a melee oppoenent. My opinion is that all master professions should be even in terms of ablity. It shouldn't be "pick FOTM and no one can touch you" sorta deal

Combat Rebalance.
They arechanging things. You should be what, specifically is being changed (demand info from the Devs! Fight the power!), not over whether or not the situation, as it is now, is fair or whatever. It doesn't matter, it's going away!
