bah... i'd like to see overt colonels have the ability to turn people overt. but not a whole group at once, maybe only allow one every minute or whatever...

sorry, dont want to hijack the thread.

Master SLs should never have /rally fail on them, imo.

So they are making it so you have to have Combat XP to be a Squad Leader? What does that say for us that are already Master Squad Leaders? Do we have to redo that whole tree with Combat XP whent he revamp comes or do we get to keep our skills? I havn't been part of a revamped profession while the revamp was going on.

first I've heard of anything likethat.

All other professions got to keep all their skill boxes after the revamp (Except Jedi, but they have special considerations), so I'm sure we will too.

I thought so, I just wanted to make sure. That would really suck if that were to happen...
But of course, I am dedicated to Squad Leader and would have to grind it out if ness.

On another note, I would like to add this:

"Squad Leader: A soldier whose very presence in a group provides benefits to all group members.
Requirements: Ranged Weapons Support Ability Specialist (Marksman) & Survival IV: Special Techniques (Scout)"

This is from the page about professions. And I would like to ask one very important question. Aren't Squad Leaders apart of the "ALL" in group? We benefit close to nothing with out skills. I think only /rally gives us anything. WE get none of our extra Melee and Ranged Defenses nor do we get our extra Terrian negationation OR BURST RUN RETREAT!

This really should be the first thing on the list. We AT LEAST deserve the bonuses for using our points on this!

Note: I am also going to post this on the things to do forum.

Don't need Marksman to get the Combat XP though, you can use Brawler. In fact, I have a friend who is going TKA/Rifleman and he is able to use his Combat Xp from TKAfor his Rifleman Combat XP requirement.

What about the ability for a SL to add a mini-buff to the group. For the sake of argument let's put this ability in the Leadership Tree. Add 250 points to Health and Action @ II, 500 @ IV and 750 @ Master. This would be similiar to the Vitalize skill for Zabrak's.

We get all of our mods when we're leading a group. Better defence, better terrain negotation (there isn't much to notice when running because we already have exploration IV, but you crawl much faster), rally, formup (as long as you're not dizzy), steady aim, volley fire, boost morale...it all works just fine. Just invite a pet and leave it in town if you're travelling and don't have a group. We don't get retreat because it says we don't. You're supposed to be staying behind to slow the enemy down while your group escapes. Although it'd be nice if the cost was lower so we could actually use it part way through a fight, though.

After spending a while fighting with master squad leader, I can't see very many problems with it. Steady aim and volley fire could be changed so they're more useful, but everything works and has a use. Almost all of the abilities, used correctly, make your squad stronger than it used to be. You just have to remember that the greatest thing you're getting when you take this profession is the title "Master Squad Leader." With that title, there's a good chance that your squad's going to listen when you tell them to do something, and that's worth more than any skill they could possibly give us. It's how you use that chance that determines whether or not you'll be a successful squad leader.

Master level we need to have at least one new special move and then an advanced version of one we already have.

Don't know how many of you follow the dev tracker but one idea put forward lately was the idea of "if one group member is overt all group members are overt." (by TH no less....)

This would I think superseed the idea of needing a SL to bring a group of factionals overt.
