I'vebeen SL since I finished all that camping more than 6 months ago. I like SL for taking friends and people I meet on organised PvE hunts. My favorites are the warren and vette. Now I'm learning the geo caves and someday the DWB. Some people really appreciate organised leaders and the SL title can help. I like keeping busy during the battles helping everyone in the group as best I can.

Actually, it's an interesting little thing. For years now, one table-top rpg game that I constantly played over all others was Vampire the Masquerade and in that game I have been in one way or another an sl. When a friend of mine first introduced me to the game, I was on a pilot craze. Since at the time there was no JTL, the closest thing was squad leader. As time went by, I realized that my two main characters were in one way shape or form sl. One character was head of a vampiric wizards guild the other in the same game was a evil (yes vampires are evil, but this character was worse than that, he'd torture because he was bored) vampiric gang leader. Anyways, I modified a template to suit who I was and how I played and what I wanted. Advancing in rank within his sect and taking on missions was who he was, he was fighting a war and he expected his side to come out on top. The character had a lot of potential, but due to unforseen circumstances, I don't play anymore. Nothing bad, just time and growing older and that sort of stuff and those things will probably happen with this game as well, though I played that game for 10 years.

Well, there you have it. My answer to why my main toon's a squad leader.

And I agree with Irott...."I came into this game a SL I will leave it as a SL."

Im a MSL because I like team work and tactics and strategy.

It was the first elite profession I ever mastered and is currently the only elite profession I have since they removed the crowd control from the so called Master Carbineer "crowd control 4 of 5".

I love large +12 ppl groups. Im usually more a RTS freak and can kinda play that type of game in SWG beeing a SL of a large group.

I got my base slicing team, assign them body guards, form an turret assault group and an NPC assault group and support and help everybody with the actions I take as well as keep the information and coordination in the group up with /sys as well as /groupchat.

One of my the biggest fun thing everhappened to me was leading a full 20 man group without any jedi trying to hit unbalanced PvE Det. HQ with 5 turrets where the ppl of the base even managed to replace turrets during the fight.

I could inspire, encourage, lead and aid them and we all died and cloned and died and cloned but still the whole group was following my lead doing what I said since I wanted to take down that base. It was pure madness hitting that base but all of us had SOO much fun!

Now
all this is gone.
But Im still a MSL and I dont see me drop this for anything else since that is what I want to be.

p.s.
I had a quick look at the guild and grouping forum and the correspondet was talking about the option to form raid groups/meta groups.

I just HOPE and PRAY that they will give this to to MSL but if you look at what SOE usually does the will just ruin us even more.

My main is a Squad Leader, mainly because I am the leader of my guild, commander in-chief of military forces in the guild, so I might as well take Squad Leader, and actually have things happen while I bark out orders

My very first master skill was Squad Leader and Swordsman, because back in the first leg of the game almost nobody was swordsman or squad leader but then I joined a guild and 2 of the officers were SL so I stopped being one just because it was redundent. But its fun putting messages up on peeps screen and messin with their wounds and acting like a general in a big battle or something~

Havn't tried it after the CU tho, thinking I might

I actually picked up SL the first time during the holo-grind (never did bother to get to jedi really. Just used the holos as a motivational excuse to try out some new stuff).

Turns out I liked it.

I went on to do 16 professions or so during the holo-grind, and went back to my original crafting - waiting for the CU to get back into combat.

Now that it's here, and grouping is so essential - MSL is a natural choice togowith my MPistoleer for grouping. Leading a hunting and/or PvP group is a lot of fun, and really helps to get everyone on the same page.

MSL for the win!
