you didnt read the stats did you? lol It's about the best dang pistol in the game, and has a base DPS of 325is and a low SAC to boot. I would be embarassed to admit that I deleted it.
Actually I compared it to my FWG5 and it wasn't as good. I'll have to grab one from a guildee and compare them again but I doubt I'll be trading in my intimidator for it. Just can't beat the look of the intimidator.

Just got one from winning the bet with that rodan (kill 24 creatures in 20 mins)... Base DPS was 356 and my DPS was 564 (un-modified and un-sliced). So not sure why people say the gun is crap, have yet to use it tho because I want to slice it before I get it bio-linked to me, then i plan on throwing a ADK on it.
only thing I can think is maybe the stats on it sucked when Rage of Wookies came out and the Dev's bumped up the power on it.... Or maybe you get a better version with tthe less help you have when u do the bet. I did it solo and killed all 24 creatureswith 4 mins left. (Shrug) only guessing tho...

I love my Totchee Pistol.
I get into the low 500 DPS (modified) and it has an ultra low SAC of 75.
I also have the Dawnsorrow Rifle, E5 Carbine, and Intimidator Pistol.
But the Totchee Pistol is my weapon of choice. This is how I engage depending on group dynamics.
1. Rally
2. Volley Fire
3. Spam Damage with Totchee Pistol (Improved Body Shot / Quick Draw)
4. If things get close or not too many people in group, snare and kite.
4.a.. If leading sub 80 xp group, switch to Blaster Fist.
COB
Knockdown
Hit.
Equip Pistol, Snare
4.b.. If solo grouping with Probot Droid (especially for kimogilas or insert high end mob here)
Panic Shot
Stim/ Ruby Bliel
Firearm Strike
4.c.If leading group of mostly melee (I tend to this often, having TKA/Swords/Pike in my group)
Snare
Volley Fire
Spam Damage
5. Kite, Spam Damage, or Perform Crowd Control
My current build is Master Squad Leader, Master Smuggler, Pistoleer 4-0-0-0
This is mostly a support template, although having a very fast speed. (Pistoleer 4-0-0-0) and with a 75 SAC Pistol allows me to spam damage quite fast, and hence sometimes becoming the most aggroed. Volley Fire + High DPS gets lots of aggro. To control manage aggro, I snare or I switch to Blaster Fist and COB and Tank for a few combat rounds to get my DPS down. My sliced Blaster Fist gets around 350 DPS (Modified). With COB running, my damage is not so high but I don't take much damage.
Totchee Pistol is excellent getting you down to Necrosis in Myddrill Caverns. I no longer spam (retreat) unless it's a trusted group. I let a jedi tank or for non-jedi, lead them and fight the spiders one on one. One on one spiders is horrendously slow, but heck, gets lots of experience. For running place to place I always have my Blaster Fist equipped and stopping for a second to keep COB up. Then I eat burst run food.
Modded Defensive mods is around 170-180 + 30 Squad Leader Defense + 250 COB = 450 Defense
This provides me with most flexibility.
To solo, you really need to invest in a high end probot droid. You need armor module, combat module and an auto-repair module.
My Probot Droid hits quickly for 150-200 damage each time, and kiting with my totchee pistol is really fast.
The Totchee Pistol is amazing it's small so it doesn't slow you down as much as the DawnSorrow Rifle.
With Volley Fire you can take things down fast. And if you have a great tank, then you don't need to kite and just spam damage.
I actually changed my template around the Totchee Pistol, before that I used an E5 Carbine all the time. I had carbineer, and Leg Shot does wicked amounts of damage. Yes the damage is much higher, but I just like to spam damage, that the Totchee Pistol allows me to retain a lot of action.
This is the most underrated pistol in the game, although that is changing. A lot of Bounty hunters get Volley Fire just to carry this pistol.

Imo any sl weapon is a good weapon. 
I since sl weapons came out, I haven't used anything else, except for an advanced laser rifle. But,I wouldn't mind seeing an sl exclusive vendor running around on the servers. Even though there are only two weapons that are craftable. Personally though, I'm not to fond of this pistol, but I will have one none the less. And I will use it too.

I've recently seen one on a vendor for 500K, Spd 2, Dam 380-760, 80 Elemental, Base DPS 325, SAC 75. Nice weapon, but I think I'll stick to the crafted Intimidators my friend makes for now.

I have yet to find an intimadator pistol that can out damage my tchochtee pistol.

I love this gun, as a MCH/MPistoleer/0400 SL it is probably the best weapon in my arsenal. I can't seem to get it sliced but anyhow, with a speed pup I can break 711dps with it, I've found it to outdamage my gorax FWG5960 maxw/o pup in a lot of instances. I was planning on getting this tree in SL for the melee/ranged defense being able to use this pistol was just a bonus for me btw it rocks in the Vette.

if you've biolinked the gun, you can't slice it. Found that out the hard way.

I've got 2. Bought 1 when it was first on the vendor. Got mine yesterday. Haven't really used it yet, but plan on it. Even though I'm MCarbs, it's still SL related so of course I had to have one. lol
