Either way....it's 'sploitable.

I understand that feeding the pet heals its health and action wounds. However, what you are describing is completely inconsistent with my experience. If the total pool wounds in your group is 0, Boost Morale has no effect, and it does not 'create' wounds from anywhere.

That said, I've never 'fed' my pet to recover its wounds. If you are in fact somehow gaining wounds when everyone in your group is unwounded, I would guess there's something with the 'feed' mechanism that makes Boost Morale think the pets are actually still wounded. My unwounded pets work just fine in sinking pool wounds.

Yes, something is indeed up with it. I didn't know about it til last night when I was messing around with boostmorale (making a point) and found out that there was something very up with it.

I'm going to test it out more tonight, see what variations I can get, see if it works with bots, see if it works if I am solo with pets as opposed to grouped with pets, etc.

From my own testing:

1) It works as mentioned with 1, 2, 3, or 4 PCs (including me) in group, with or without pets.

2) Droids are considered pets.

3) Faction pets are considered pets.

I've never seen Boost Morale add wounds when grouped with unwounded pets. Are you sure they were unwounded? It's very difficult to tell with high HAM pets if they're wounded or not except by selecting and examining the HAM bar via cursor autohelp. In my experience, pet wounds are counted when determining how the wounds should be redistributed, but are not actually changed - so your entire group moves asymptotically to the average of the wounds of all the grouped pets.

BTW, it's generally faster to use the tumble trick if you want to PL medic xp. You get somewhat less than from healing wounds, but you can do it much faster. A very high level doctor with good wound packs probably can get a bit more medic XP through this method, but I wouldn't bet on it. SLs can't even exploit well

Freshly fed pets. And the number of wounds is proportional to the number of pets on the group. When it was just my cowardly gurreck it gave the two of us 7 wounds. In a three person group with three pets it gave us 26 wounds. It did not give the pets any wounds.

You can spam Boostmorale about four times before you have to rest. My idea is to get two people in a group with 18 pets. You can accomplish that by having people enter your group, group their pets, then leave the group. When the last person leaves you group your own pet for the 20th slot. I am guessing that giving yourself 126 wounds on H and A four times would be a dream scenario for med xp. Once it is cleared up repeat scenario.

from my testing a perfectly healthy group of pets and droids your wounds vanish into thin air. say you have 100 wounds. and 4 pets/droids it divides your wounds by 1/5th, but the pets droids take none. do it again you get 1/5th of that.

i know how boostmorale should work. i'm saying you can use it to heal right now, it being broken. just make sure ALL pets / droids are top notch. if they aren't have them taken care of or removed from the group before you launch off boostmorale.

you can easily beat a master doctor like this.

i should say 95% of the time i use this command wounds disappear they don't add. you just have to make sure those pets are healthy as can be.

Does the new /diagnose command work on pets?
That would be one sure (and easy) way to tell if your pet has any wounds...

dunno not a medic. what i do is target them in the group menu, and hold the mouse over each bar in my target window. displays their full health and wounds such as : 9131/9685(9700). you have to do it for each bar though to make sure it's healthy in all three pools.

The exploit is this....you can use boostmorale to make wounds vanish providing a pet is grouped. When you use it your wounds get split evenly througout the group (although only primary stats -health, action, and mind). The player(s) wounds will drop accordingly depending on the group's size yet any npc pets recive none of the "shared" wounds.

I ran across a guy at the shuttleport with nealry all black bars and I tryed it out. The two of us plus a pet of mine and a just a few boost morale's reduced wounds to insignifcant amounts. Our wounds are gone yet the pet has none (not that it would be difficult to heal a pet since all you do is feed em and do a trick).

This need to be changed so the pets are not included in the group formula when it comes to splitting wounds or it will be abused.
